{"id":87074,"date":"2019-12-15T16:55:18","date_gmt":"2019-12-15T11:25:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=12395"},"modified":"2019-12-15T16:55:18","modified_gmt":"2019-12-15T11:25:18","slug":"ministry-of-coal-to-establish-sustainable-development-cell-for-environmental-mitigation-measures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/ministry-of-coal-to-establish-sustainable-development-cell-for-environmental-mitigation-measures\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Coal to Establish Sustainable Development Cell for Environmental Mitigation Measures"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The Ministry of Coal has decided to establish a \u2018Sustainable Development Cell\u2019.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Sustainable development Cell:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Sustainable development cell aims to promote environmentally sustainable coal mining in the country and address environmental concerns during the decommissioning or closure of mines.<\/li><li>The cell will advise and monitor the mitigation measures taken by the coal companies for maximising the utilisation of available resources in a sustainable way.<\/li><li>It also aims to minimise the adverse impact of mining and mitigating it for further&nbsp; ecosystem services and will act as nodal point at Ministry of Coal level in this matter.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Thus,the Cell envisages to address the environment mitigation measures in a systematic manner and to provide a better environment to people working and residing in the vicinity of Mines.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Functions of the Cell:<\/strong>The Cell will adopt a systemic approach, starting from collection of data, analysis of data, presentation of information planning based on information by executing the following tasks in a planned way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Land amelioration and afforestation<\/li><li>Air quality, emission and noise management<\/li><li>Mine water management<\/li><li>Sustainable Overburden Management<\/li><li>Sustainable Mine Tourism<\/li><li>Planning and Monitoring<\/li><li>Policy, Research, Education, and Dissemination.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:The Ministry of Coal has decided to establish a \u2018Sustainable Development Cell\u2019.
