{"id":87089,"date":"2019-12-31T15:31:31","date_gmt":"2019-12-31T10:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=12641"},"modified":"2019-12-31T15:31:31","modified_gmt":"2019-12-31T10:01:31","slug":"andaman-and-nicobar-islands-to-get-indias-first-water-aerodromes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/andaman-and-nicobar-islands-to-get-indias-first-water-aerodromes\/","title":{"rendered":"Andaman and Nicobar islands to get India&#8217;s first water aerodromes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Airports Authority of India(AAI) is in the process of seeking environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment,Forest and Climate Change for water aerodromes in Andaman &amp; Nicobar Islands.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Water Aerodromes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A water aerodrome is an area of open water that can be used by seaplanes as well as amphibious aircraft to land and take off.<\/li><li>Such aircraft are expected to take people across water faster and more safely than local boats<\/li><li>Moreover,depending on the volume of traffic,water aerodrome may have a terminal building on the shore or on a jetty where planes can dock, and bays where they can be parked.<\/li><li>The water drones are present in some island nations especially in the richer ones like the British Virgin Islands.<\/li><li>Also,there are few in Canada, including Yellowknife on the Great Slave Lake, Tofino on Vancouver Island and Whitehorse on Schwatka Lake.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guidelines for setting up water Aerodromes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The water aerodrome could be set up near locations of tourist and religious importance.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The water aerodrome cannot be used for scheduled air transport services without licence.<\/li><li>An entity seeking to set up a water aerodrome has to take approvals from various authorities including the Ministries of Defence, Home, Environment and Forests and Shipping.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Advantages of Water Aerodrome:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The water Aerodromes will promote tourism as well as connect places of religious importance.<\/li><li>It will enhance air connectivity in the country by allowing amphibian planes which can operate in both land and water.<\/li><li>It will create employment in the Andaman &amp; Nicobar Islands.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:Airports Authority of India(AAI) is in the process of seeking environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment,Forest and Climate Change for water aerodromes in Andaman &amp; Nicobar Islands.
