{"id":87257,"date":"2020-05-23T21:35:34","date_gmt":"2020-05-23T16:05:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=15627"},"modified":"2020-05-23T21:35:34","modified_gmt":"2020-05-23T16:05:34","slug":"govt-launches-initiatives-on-international-day-of-biodiversity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/govt-launches-initiatives-on-international-day-of-biodiversity\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt launches initiatives on International Day of Biodiversity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity 2020, the Union Minister of Environment has launched key initiatives towards conservation of biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Biodiversity Samrakshan Internship Programme:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It was launched by the National Biodiversity Authority(NBA) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).<\/li><li><strong>Aim: <\/strong>To<strong> <\/strong>engage 20 students with postgraduate degrees for a period of one year to support the projects of NBA in various State\/UTs and to technically assist the State Biodiversity Boards Biodiversity Council in discharge of their mandates.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Not all Animals Migrate by Choice Campaign:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It was launched by the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau along with the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP) against Illegal Trafficking of Endangered Species.<\/li><li><strong>Aim: <\/strong>To create awareness and garner public support for the protection and conservation of wildlife, prevention of smuggling and reduction in demand for wildlife products.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Wildlife Crime Control Bureau<\/strong>: It is a statutory multi disciplinary body established by Government of India under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change to combat organized wildlife crime in the country.<\/li><li><strong>National Biodiversity Authority(NBA): <\/strong>It was established in 2003 as a statutory autonomous body under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and climate change to implement the provisions under the Biological Diversity Act, 2002.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity 2020, the Union Minister of Environment has launched key initiatives towards conservation of biodiversity.
