{"id":87345,"date":"2020-08-14T16:47:05","date_gmt":"2020-08-14T11:17:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=16888"},"modified":"2020-08-14T16:47:05","modified_gmt":"2020-08-14T11:17:05","slug":"one-sun-one-world-one-grid-project-put-on-hold","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/one-sun-one-world-one-grid-project-put-on-hold\/","title":{"rendered":"One Sun One World One Grid project put on hold"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News: <\/strong>Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy(MNRE) has put calls for proposals to the One Sun, One World, One Grid(OSOWOG) initiative on hold till further notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>One Sun, One World, One Grid(OSOWOG) initiative: <\/strong>It was proposed by India to build a global ecosystem of interconnected renewable energy resources that can be easily shared.<\/li><li><strong>Vision: <\/strong>The vision behind the initiative is \u2018The Sun Never Sets\u2019 and is a constant at some geographical location, globally, at any given point of time.<\/li><li><strong>Aim: <\/strong>To build global consensus about sharing solar resources among more than 140 countries of West Asia and South-East Asia.At a later stage, the project envisages getting this grid interconnected with the African power pools.<\/li><li><strong>Phases: <\/strong>The initiative is planned to be completed in three phases:<ul><li><strong>Phase I<\/strong> (Middle East-South Asia-Southeast Asia(MESASEA) interconnection.<\/li><li><strong>Phase II<\/strong> (Solar and other Renewable Energy resources rich regions\u2019 interconnection).<\/li><li><strong>Phase III <\/strong>(Global interconnection).<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Significance: <\/strong>An<strong> <\/strong>interconnected grid would help all the participating entities in attracting investments in renewable energy sources as well as utilize skills, technology and finances.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy(MNRE) has put calls for proposals to the One Sun, One World, One Grid(OSOWOG) initiative on hold till further notice.
