Tripoli is the base of the UN-backed, internationally recognised\ngovernment Prime Minister Fayez Sarraj.<\/li><li>After the 2011 uprising that toppled and killed long-time\ndictator Moammar Gadhafi, there has been a power vacuum and instability, with\nno authority in full control of Libya. Since then the country has been divided\ninto competing political and military factions based in Tripoli and the east\nLibya.<\/li><li>There has been widespread concerns about the ongoing\nconflict in Libya as a) it threatens to disrupt oil supplies, b) increase migration\nto Europe and c) reduce the chances of a possible election to end rivalries\nbetween parallel administrations in east and Tripoli.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that ongoing clashes between rival militias for control of Tripoli, Libya\u2019s capital, have killed at least 121 people.
