{"id":88089,"date":"2019-10-25T17:29:41","date_gmt":"2019-10-25T11:59:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=11164"},"modified":"2019-10-25T17:29:41","modified_gmt":"2019-10-25T11:59:41","slug":"india-pakistan-sign-pact-to-enable-indian-pilgrims-visit-kartarpur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/india-pakistan-sign-pact-to-enable-indian-pilgrims-visit-kartarpur\/","title":{"rendered":"India, Pakistan sign pact to enable Indian pilgrims visit Kartarpur"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>India and Pakistan has signed a Kartarpur agreement to open a land corridor between the two countries.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Highlights of the agreement:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Indian pilgrims of all faiths and Person of Indian origin can use the Kartarpur corridor<\/li><li>Travel will be visa free.But the pilgrims need to carry only a valid passport and an electronic travel authorisation they receive if their registration is deemed successful.<\/li><li>Persons of Indian Origin need to carry OCI card along with the passport of their country<\/li><li>India will send the list of pilgrims to Pakistan 10 days ahead of travel date.Confirmation will be sent to pilgrims 4 days prior to the date of travel.<\/li><li>Either party can terminate the agreement at any time by giving notice of one month to the other party of its intention to terminate this agreement.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Kartarpur Corridor:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Kartarpur Corridor is a 4km long corridor comprising border gates, road and a bridge to link Dera Baba Nanak gurdwara in Gurdaspur district in India to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Pakistan.<\/li><li>The corridor is aimed at allowing the easy movement of Sikh pilgrims to the Kartarpur gurdwara.<\/li><li>The gurdwara in Kartarpur stands on the bank of River Ravi,about 120 km northeast of Lahore.It is revered as Guru Nanak\u2019s final resting place.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/j35f00YrtzTaM25ZHwYIBkHS6x_f8CTbTaHPGv8Z3QpWyObNoshsZQ6WYjSAEMgjSKVkbLgqpDZ5DbdYw_OU0Z-3_hB9cH_Gwyb4_0h1TuW24FLYCYju0JrAMxnruvhvB2LQuUCR\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:India and Pakistan has signed a Kartarpur agreement to open a land corridor between the two countries.
