{"id":88110,"date":"2019-11-08T13:01:20","date_gmt":"2019-11-08T07:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=11460"},"modified":"2019-11-08T13:01:20","modified_gmt":"2019-11-08T07:31:20","slug":"indian-navy-indonesian-navy-bilateral-exercise-samudra-shakti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/indian-navy-indonesian-navy-bilateral-exercise-samudra-shakti\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Navy \u2013 Indonesian Navy Bilateral Exercise \u2018Samudra Shakti\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong> India\nis jointly exercising its anti-submarine warfare corvette INS Kamorta along\nwith Indonesian warship KRI Usman Harun, a multi-role corvette, in the Bay of\nBengal as part of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> edition of Samudra Shakti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Samudra Shakti Exercise<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is an\nannual naval exercise between Indian and Indonesian Navy. <\/li><li>The\nfirst edition of the exercise took place in 2018 in the Java Sea.<\/li><li>The aim\nof the exercise is to strengthen bilateral relations, expand maritime co-operation,\nenhance interoperability and exchange best practices.<\/li><li>The\nexercise has two phases- Sea Phase and Harbour Phase. <\/li><li>The\nHarbour Phase includes professional interactions in the form of Subject Matter\nExpert Exchanges (SMEE), cross deck visits, simulator drills, planning\nconferences, sports fixtures and social interactions.<\/li><li>The Sea\nPhase includes manoeuvres, Surface Warfare exercises, Air Defence exercises,\nWeapon firing drills, Helicopter Operations and Boarding Operations<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other India-Indonesia Bilateral Exercises:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Garuda Shakti:<\/strong> It is an annual military exercise between Indian and Indonesian Army. It\nis conducted on a reciprocal basis and its first edition was conducted in the\nyear 2012 in India.<\/li><li><strong>IND-INDO CORPAT<\/strong>: It is a bi-annual coordinated patrol exercise along the International\nMaritime Boundary Line (IMBL) naval exercise conducted by Indian and Indonesian\nNavvy. <\/li><li><strong>Exercise KOMODO:<\/strong> Ex- KOMODO is a multilateral Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief\n(HADR) exercise.
