{"id":88244,"date":"2020-02-14T15:54:38","date_gmt":"2020-02-14T10:24:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=13721"},"modified":"2020-02-14T15:54:38","modified_gmt":"2020-02-14T10:24:38","slug":"bimstec-conference-on-drug-trafficking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/bimstec-conference-on-drug-trafficking\/","title":{"rendered":"BIMSTEC conference on drug trafficking"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>India is hosting the first-ever BIMSTEC nations conference on combating drug trafficking in New Delhi.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the conference:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The conference has been organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).<\/li><li><strong>Aim:<\/strong>To provide an opportunity to all the member nations to deliberate on the increased threats posed by drug trafficking and the collective steps that were required to negate such threats.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>NCB was constituted by the Government of India in 1986 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,1985.<\/li><li>It is the apex coordinating agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About<\/strong> <strong>Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,1985:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The National Policy on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances is based on the Directive Principles contained in Article 47 of the Indian Constitution,<\/li><li>Article 47 directs the State to endeavour to bring about prohibition of the consumption except for medicinal purposes of intoxicating drugs injurious to health.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About BIMSTEC:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) is an international organization founded in 1997.It is headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh.<\/li><li>It comprises seven Member states namely Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan, and Nepal.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:India is hosting the first-ever BIMSTEC nations conference on combating drug trafficking in New Delhi.
