The BrahMos is a supersonic\ncruise missile. <\/li><li>A cruise missile is an unmanned self-propelled\n(till the time of impact) guided vehicle that sustains flight through\naerodynamic lift for most of its flight path. Its primary mission to place an\nordnance or special payload on a target. Supersonic cruise missile travels at a\nspeed of around 2-3 march i.e.; it travels a kilometre approximately in a\nsecond <\/li><li>BrahMos is a joint venture between India and\nRussia. It is named after Brahmaputra and Moscow rivers. It is capable of being\nlaunched from land, sea, sub-sea and air against surface and sea-based targets.<\/li><li>The land and sea variants of BrahMos are already\noperational with the Army and Navy. The Army has deployed three BrahMos\nregiments on the Western and Eastern borders. The air-launched version is under\ndevelopment.
