The WHO has been developing Benchmarks Document for Training\nin Yoga as part of Traditional Medicine Strategy 2014-2023.<\/li><li>Traditional Medicine Strategy 2014-2023 seeks to\nhelp health care leaders to develop solution that contribute to a broader\nvision of improved health and patient autonomy. The strategy has two key goals:\na) to support Member States in harnessing the potential contribution of&nbsp;Traditional\nand Complementary Medicine&nbsp;(T&amp;CM) to health, wellness and people centred\nhealth care and b) to promote the safe and effective use of T&amp;CM through the\nregulation of products, practice and practitioners.<\/li><li>It has three strategic objectives to achieve its\ngoals: a) Building the knowledge base and formulating nation\u2019s policies, b) Strengthening safety, quality\nand effectiveness through regulation and c) Promoting universal health systems.<\/li><li>Under the strategy, a Project collaboration was\nsigned between WHO and Ministry of AYUSH. It calls for cooperation on promoting\nthe quality, safety and effectiveness of service provision in traditional and\ncomplementary medicine between WHO and Ministry of AYUSH (2016-2020).<\/li><li>The area of collaboration a) development of Benchmarks\nfor training in Yoga, b) development Benchmark for practice in Ayurveda, Unani\nand Panchakarma, c) development of Basic (essential) terms for T&amp;CM, d) Project\non the establishment of a WHO database for global T&amp;CM practitioners and e)\nSupport the establishment of a network of international regulatory cooperation\nfor T&amp;CM practice.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ministry of AYUSH and WHO are jointly organizing a three days Working Group Meeting for reviewing the WHO document \u201cBenchmarks&nbsp;for Training in Yoga\u201d.
