The festival\nstarted on 11<sup>th<\/sup> March 2019.<\/li><li>The\nSabarimala temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Ayyappa. It is situated\non a hilltop named Sabarimala in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala.<\/li><li>In\nrecent months, the Sabarimala has witnessed violent protests against 2018 Supreme\nCourt judgement. The Supreme Court had ruled that women, irrespective of age,\ncan enter Kerala\u2019s Sabarimala temple. Previously, girls and women in the 10-50\nage group were prohibited from entering the Sabarimala temple. In January, two\nwomen in the 10-50 age group had entered the temple amidst widespread protests.<\/li><li>The Sabarimala\nissue has become a major political issue in Kerala.
