{"id":88932,"date":"2019-03-29T17:03:22","date_gmt":"2019-03-29T11:33:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=3143"},"modified":"2019-03-29T17:03:22","modified_gmt":"2019-03-29T11:33:22","slug":"pm-didnt-seek-nod-for-tv-address-ec-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/pm-didnt-seek-nod-for-tv-address-ec-2\/","title":{"rendered":"PM didn\u2019t seek nod for TV address: EC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Election Commission has said that Prime\nMinister Narendra Modi had neither informed, nor sought any permission from,\nthe EC for broadcast of his recent address to nation on the anti-Satellite\nmissile test Mission Shakti.<\/li><li>Opposition parties had alleged that the PM&#8217;s\naddress was a violation of the Model Code of Conduct and demanded that EC take\naction in this regard. <\/li><li>The EC had then set up a committee of officers\nto examine whether any content of the Prime Minister\u2019s speech violated the\nModel Code of Conduct (MCC). The committee had sought response from state broadcasters\nDoordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) about the source of their feed which\naired PM\u2019s speech. Doordarshan and AIR has reported that they had taken the\nfeed from a live broadcast made through Youtube.<\/li><li>Model code of Conduct (MCC) are the guidelines\nissued by the Election Commission of India for conduct of political parties and\ncandidates during elections mainly with respect to (a)speeches (b)polling day\n(c)polling booths (d)election manifestos (e)processions and (f)general conduct.\nThe MCC comes into force immediately on the announcement of the election\nschedule by the commission.
