The channel, NaMo\nTV was launched on 31<sup>st<\/sup> March, nearly two weeks after the Model Code\nof Conduct came into effect. &nbsp;<\/li><li>The channel carries the picture of Prime Minister\nModi as its logo. It broadcasts election rallies, speeches of the Prime\nMinister and interviews of BJP leaders. The opposition parties have alleged\nthat the channel violates the model code of conduct and has asked the EC to direct\nI&amp;B ministry to suspend it. <\/li><li>Opposition parties have also sought\nclarification from EC whether permission to own a party channel can be granted\neven after the Model Code of Conduct is enforced.<\/li><li>The oppositions parties in their complaint\nreport have mentioned that NaMo TV is not listed in I&amp;B ministry\u2019s \u2018Permitted\nPrivate Satellite TV Channels\u2019. Therefore, it is either being broadcast as a\n&#8220;government-sponsored channel&#8221; or lacks official clearance from the\nministry.<\/li><li>Issue of advertisement at the cost of public\nmoney in the newspapers and other media and the misuse of official mass media\nduring the election period for partisan coverage of political news and\npublicity regarding achievements amounts to violation of MCC<\/li><li>Model code of Conduct (MCC) are the guidelines\nissued by the Election Commission of India for conduct of political parties and\ncandidates during elections.<\/li><li>The MCC comes into force immediately on the\nannouncement of the election schedule by the commission. The Code remains in\nforce till the end of the electoral process.
