{"id":89243,"date":"2019-09-02T18:05:32","date_gmt":"2019-09-02T12:35:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=9779"},"modified":"2019-09-02T18:05:32","modified_gmt":"2019-09-02T12:35:32","slug":"nris-to-get-aadhaar-sans-180-day-wait-in-3-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/nris-to-get-aadhaar-sans-180-day-wait-in-3-months\/","title":{"rendered":"NRIs to get Aadhaar sans 180-day wait in 3 months"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) has said that Non Resident Indians(NRIs) with Indian passports will be able to obtain Aadhar Card without the mandatory 180 days waiting period.<\/li><li>Under current regulations,the Non Resident Indian(NRIs) can apply for Aadhaar card only if he or she has stayed in India for at least 182 days in the last 12 months.<\/li><li>Further,the UIDAI has also started setting up Aadhaar Seva Kendras \u2014 similar to the concept of Passport Seva Kendras.<\/li><li>These Aadhaar Seva Kendras are meant to facilitate enrolment, updation and other activities.It will be owned and operated by UIDAI.<\/li><li>These Kendra\u2019s will be in addition to other centres currently being run by banks and post offices and in government premises offering similar Aadhaar services.<\/li><li>The UIDAI is a statutory authority established under the provisions of Aadhaar Act 2016 under the Ministry of Electronics &amp; Information Technology.It is mandated to issue Unique Identification numbers (UID)-\u201cAadhaar\u201d to all residents of India.<\/li><li>The Aadhaar number is a verifiable twelve-digit unique identity number issued by the UIDAI to the residents of India.It is linked with the resident\u2019s demographic and biometric information.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) has said that Non Resident Indians(NRIs) with Indian passports will be able to obtain Aadhar Card without the mandatory 180 days waiting period.
