Jamaat-i-Islami is\na separatist group based in Jammu and Kashmir. According to government\nofficials, the separatist group had alleged role in anti-national and\nsubversive activities and were closely connected with militant outfits.<\/li><li>The\nUAPA is a legislation to provide for the more effective prevention of certain\nunlawful activities of individuals and associations and for dealing with\nterrorist activities. The Act defines unlawful activity as any action by an\nindividual or association which is intended to bring about cession\/secession or\nsuch action as to disrupt or question the sovereignty and territorial integrity\nof India.<\/li><li>The\nUnlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 was amended in 2004 to criminalise the\nraising of funds for a terrorist act, holding of the proceeds of terrorism,\nmembership of a terrorist organisation, support to a terrorist organisation,\nand the raising of funds for a terrorist organisation.<\/li><li>It\nwas amended in 2008 after the Mumbai attacks. It was again amended in 2012 to\ncomply with the guidelines of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). The\ndefinition of \u201cterrorist act\u201d was expanded to include offences that threaten\neconomic security, counterfeiting Indian currency, and procurement of weapons,\netc.<\/li><li>Financial\nAction Task Force (FATF) is an inter-governmental organisation set up in 1989\nto develop policies to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
