{"id":89597,"date":"2019-04-13T13:07:28","date_gmt":"2019-04-13T07:37:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=3648"},"modified":"2019-04-13T13:07:28","modified_gmt":"2019-04-13T07:37:28","slug":"sc-rejects-plea-for-puja-in-ayodhya-temples","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/sc-rejects-plea-for-puja-in-ayodhya-temples\/","title":{"rendered":"SC rejects plea for puja in Ayodhya temples"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Supreme Court has rejected a plea seeking\npermission to carry out religious activities in nine ancient temples situated\non the undisputed acquired land adjacent to Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid site.\nEarlier, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court had dismissed the plea and\nhad also imposed a cost of Rs 5 lakh on the petitioner.<\/li><li>The undisputed land, in addition to the core\ndisputed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid plot was acquired by the government in\n1993 under the Ayodhya Acquisition Act. <\/li><li>Recently, the centre had moved to the SC to seek\npermission to return all excess acquired to Ram Janambhoomi Nyas (RJN). It has\nsought a modification in 2003 SC judgement by which the Central government was\ndirected to maintain the \u201cstatus quo\u201d with regard to entire land including the\nnon-disputed acquired plots.<\/li><li>In March 2019, the Supreme Court had ordered\nmediation to attempt a solution to the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land\ndispute case.
