{"id":89729,"date":"2019-07-04T16:32:53","date_gmt":"2019-07-04T11:02:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=7709"},"modified":"2019-07-04T16:32:53","modified_gmt":"2019-07-04T11:02:53","slug":"soon-read-supreme-court-judgments-in-your-language","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/soon-read-supreme-court-judgments-in-your-language\/","title":{"rendered":"Soon, read Supreme Court judgments in your language"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Supreme Court has decided to make its\njudgments available in regional languages on its official website.<\/li><li>Under the existing practice, judgements are\nwritten in English and subsequently uploaded on the SC website<\/li><li>The Supreme Court&#8217;s verdicts will be made\navailable on its website in Hindi, Telugu, Assamese, Marathi, Kannada, Odia and\nTamil <\/li><li>However, unlike orders written in English that\nare posted on the website on the day they are passed, the translated versions\nwould be uploaded a week later.<\/li><li>The rationale behind uploading judgements in\nregional languages is to enable non-English speaking litigants to check out the\nstatus of their cases without having to depend on lawyers.<\/li><li>To this end, the Chief Justice of India Ranjan\nGogoi have formally cleared a software indigenously developed for the purpose\nby the Supreme Court&#8217;s \u201cin-house\u201d electronic software wing. The app is similar\nto Google&#8217;s text translation. <\/li><li>The move to make Supreme Court judgments\nmulti-lingual is credited to President Ram Nath Kovind who in a 2017 conference\nheld in Kochi, highlighted the need to render judgments in regional languages\nfor the benefit of non-English speakers.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court has decided to make its judgments available in regional languages on its official website.
