Once granted assent, it will\nreplace an ordinance promulgated in February 2018 to the same effect as the\nbill.<\/li><li>The\nbill declares the practice of triple talaq as void and illegal and a cognisable\noffence. <\/li><li>It\nalso prescribes a penalty of up to three years imprisonment for an offence. <\/li><li>It\nfurther provides for subsistence allowance to married Muslim women and their\nchildren.
