{"id":90155,"date":"2019-10-17T12:38:13","date_gmt":"2019-10-17T07:08:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=10996"},"modified":"2019-10-17T12:38:13","modified_gmt":"2019-10-17T07:08:13","slug":"van-dhan-internship-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/van-dhan-internship-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Van Dhan Internship Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong> Ministry of\nTribal Affairs has launched Van Dhan Internship Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Van Dhan\nInternship Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is being organised by TRIFED under Ministry of Tribal Affairs.<\/li><li>18 interns (to be called Minister\u2019s interns) from some of the reputed Institutes of Rural Management\/ Management Institutions\/ Institutes of Social Work\/ Social Services of the country are\u00a0 participating in the programme.<\/li><li>The period of internship is 6 months (extendable developing upon the need of the organisation and mutual sustainability.<\/li><li>Responsibilities of Interns<ul><li>Work with the team of TRIFED in various states and districts in tribal areas in development of tribal welfare and inclusive growth.<\/li><li>Support the TRIFED activities on livelihood promotion, value addition of NTFTs, marketing and credit linkages<\/li><li>Develop tools and techniques on institutional development including mechanism for determination of a just price or producer price of Minor Forest Products.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Van Dhan Yojana<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The\n Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana was launched in 2018. It is a scheme of\n Ministry of Tribal Affairs.<\/li><li><strong>Aim:\n <\/strong>It aims to help tribals in optimum utilization of natural resources\n and provide sustainable Minor Forest Produce (MFP)-based livelihood. It\n seeks to help increase tribal income through value addition of MFP centric\n products<\/li><li><strong>Implementation\n of the Scheme:<\/strong><ul><li>The\n scheme is implemented through Ministry of Tribal Affairs as Nodal\n Department at the Central Level. TRIFED acts as the Nodal Agency at the\n National Level.<\/li><li>Under\n the scheme, Van Dhan Vikas Kendras are set up. These centres cater to 10\n Self Help Groups of and each group consist thirty tribal gatherers. They\n are trained and provided with working capital to add value to the\n products, which they collect from the jungle. The first Van Dhan Vikas\n Kendra was set up in Chattisgarh.<\/li><li>These\n SHGs can then market their products within and outside the States through\n retail network. Training and technical support is provided by TRIFED.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\nInformation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minor Forest Produce:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Scheduled\n Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest\n Rights) Act, 2006 defines minor forest produce as all non-timber forest\n produce of plant origin.<\/li><li>These\n include bamboo, brushwood, stumps, canes, cocoon, honey, waxes, Lac, tendu\n leaves, medicinal plants and herbs, roots, etc.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of\nIndia (TRIFED)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It\n was established in 1987.
