{"id":90177,"date":"2019-11-19T16:20:55","date_gmt":"2019-11-19T10:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=11714"},"modified":"2019-11-19T16:20:55","modified_gmt":"2019-11-19T10:50:55","slug":"targets-fixed-under-pmuy-scheme-already-achieved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/targets-fixed-under-pmuy-scheme-already-achieved\/","title":{"rendered":"Targets fixed under PMUY Scheme already achieved"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The government of India has already achieved the target of giving 8 crore free cooking gas(LPG) connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana(PMUY):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna is a scheme of the Ministry of Petroleum &amp; Natural Gas.<\/li><li>The scheme aims to replace unclean cooking fuels used in the most underprivileged households with clean and more efficient LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectives of the scheme:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Empower women and protect their health&nbsp;<\/li><li>Reduce the serious health hazards associated with cooking based on fossil fuel&nbsp;<\/li><li>Reduce the number of deaths in India due to unclean cooking fuel and&nbsp;<\/li><li>To prevent young children from significant number of acute respiratory illnesses caused due to indoor air pollution.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Beneficiaries:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Under the scheme,an adult woman member of a below poverty line family identified through the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) is given a deposit-free LPG connection with financial assistance of Rs 1,600 per connection by the Centre.<\/li><li>The interest free loan is also provided to purchase stove and refill by Oil Marketing Companies.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Target:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Initially the target was installation of 5 crore LPG connections by 2019.But the target was revised to 8 crore which was to be achieved by 2019-20.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:The government of India has already achieved the target of giving 8 crore free cooking gas(LPG) connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).
