{"id":90463,"date":"2020-02-21T15:03:05","date_gmt":"2020-02-21T09:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=13871"},"modified":"2020-02-21T15:03:05","modified_gmt":"2020-02-21T09:33:05","slug":"shyama-prasad-mukherji-rurban-missionspmrm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/shyama-prasad-mukherji-rurban-missionspmrm\/","title":{"rendered":"Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission(SPMRM)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The 4th Anniversary of the launch of Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission (SPMRM) will be observed on 21st February,2020.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the SPMRM:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Launched in 2016 by the Union Ministry of Rural Development.<\/li><li><strong>Aim:<\/strong>To stimulate local economic development, enhance basic services, and create well planned Rurban clusters.<\/li><li>Under the mission,300 Rurban clusters are envisaged to be developed in a time bound manner.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How will the Rurban Clusters be selected?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The State Governments would identify the clusters in accordance with the Framework for Implementation prepared by the Ministry of Rural Development.<\/li><li>The clusters will be geographically contiguous Gram Panchayats with a population of about 25000 to 50000 in plain and coastal areas and a population of 5000 to 15000 in desert, hilly or tribal areas.<\/li><li>As far as possible, clusters of villages would follow administrative convergence units of Gram Panchayats.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funding:<\/strong>The mission is a Core Centrally Sponsored Scheme with two fund streams namely:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Convergence through various Central sector schemes, centrally sponsored schemes, State sector\/ sponsored schemes\/ programmes, CSR funds and&nbsp;<\/li><li>Critical Gap Funds(CGF) of upto Rs. 30 crore per cluster for Non-tribal clusters and upto Rs. 15 crore per cluster for Tribal and Hilly State clusters.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mission Outcomes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To bridge the rural-urban divide-economically, technologically and those related to facilities and services.<\/li><li>Spreading development in the region.<\/li><li>Attracting investments in the rural areas.<\/li><li>Stimulating local economic development with emphasis on reduction of poverty and unemployment in the rural areas.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:The 4th Anniversary of the launch of Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission (SPMRM) will be observed on 21st February,2020.
