{"id":90531,"date":"2020-05-22T19:20:31","date_gmt":"2020-05-22T13:50:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=15605"},"modified":"2020-05-22T19:20:31","modified_gmt":"2020-05-22T13:50:31","slug":"cabinet-approves-scheme-for-formalization-of-micro-food-processing-enterprises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/cabinet-approves-scheme-for-formalization-of-micro-food-processing-enterprises\/","title":{"rendered":"Cabinet approves Scheme for Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Union Cabinet has given its approval to Scheme for Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises for the unorganised sector on all India basis with an outlay of Rs.10,000 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/0aW4U_eCCRmKdXpCHitEkv-_WATbhpAY5BH8zxvTKG2648nJFUapFyt9KAT1UneXdGGJXbm8_KL0ApUFn0XdQMWBVisO9M83dazeNz5oVLaCIiP232enUkR6BfdU7oHJMphdo5eS\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Salient features<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Type: <\/strong>Centrally Sponsored Scheme with expenditure to be shared by Government of India and states at 60:40.<\/li><li><strong>Duration: <\/strong>It will be implemented over a 5 year period from 2020-21 to 2024-25.<\/li><li><strong>Under the scheme:<\/strong><ul><li>2,00,000 micro-enterprises will get credit linked subsidy at 35% of the eligible project cost with ceiling of Rs. 10 lakh.<\/li><li>Beneficiary contribution will be minimum 10% and balance from loan.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Seed capital will be given to SHGs (Rs. four lakh per SHG) for loan to members for working capital and small tools.<\/li><li>Grant will also be provided to farmer producer organisations (FPO) for backward and forward linkages, common infrastructure, packaging, marketing and branding.<\/li><li>Cluster approach will be there with focus on perishables.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Administration and Implementation mechanisms:<\/strong><ul><li>The Scheme would be monitored at Centre by an Inter-Ministerial Empowered Committee(IMEC) under the Chairmanship of Minister for Food Processing Industries.<\/li><li>State\/ UT nodal agency(SNA) would be responsible for the implementation of the scheme.<\/li><li>A State Level Committee(SLC) chaired by the Chief Secretary will monitor and sanction proposals for expansion of micro units and setting up of new units by the SHGs\/ FPOs\/ Cooperatives.<\/li><li>A third-party evaluation and mid-term review mechanism would be built in the programme.<\/li><li>National level portal would also be set-up wherein the applicants\/ individual enterprise could apply to participate in the Scheme.
