{"id":90546,"date":"2020-06-06T21:11:29","date_gmt":"2020-06-06T15:41:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=15799"},"modified":"2020-06-06T21:11:29","modified_gmt":"2020-06-06T15:41:29","slug":"govt-issues-draft-rules-for-drones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/govt-issues-draft-rules-for-drones\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt issues draft rules for drones"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong> Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) has issued draft rules for drones termed The Unmanned Aircraft System(UAS) Rules,2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Drones or Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs): <\/strong>It is an unmanned aircraft piloted from a remote pilot station.DGCA has identified multiple categories of drones: Nano (up to 250 g), Micro ( over 250 g), small (2-25 kg), medium (25-150 kg) and large (over 150 kg).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Draft Rules:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Who can Operate Drones? <\/strong>Any Indian Citizen 18 years or above or any company registered in India with Chairman and 2\/3rd of board in India.<\/li><li><strong>Approval: <\/strong>Each drone importer, manufacturer, trader, owner and operator will need to take approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA).<\/li><li><strong>Inspection: <\/strong>DGCA will have powers to inspect a Drone manufacturing or maintenance facility before granting any authorisation under these rules.<\/li><li><strong>UIN for drones mandatory<\/strong>: No drone can be owned or operated in India unless it has been allotted a Unique Identification Number (UIN), which will be issued by the DGCA.<\/li><li><strong>Drone Ports: <\/strong>The rules propose establishing dedicated drone ports and corridors in permitted areas.<\/li><li><strong>Operation of Drones: <\/strong>Only Nano class drones will be allowed to operate in India in general.Further, only a qualified remote pilot will be permitted to operate heavier drones.<\/li><li><strong>Use of Drones for Food Delivery: <\/strong>Government hasn\u2019t given permission for that yet.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) has issued draft rules for drones termed The Unmanned Aircraft System(UAS) Rules,2020.
