{"id":90560,"date":"2020-06-23T16:43:32","date_gmt":"2020-06-23T11:13:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=16033"},"modified":"2020-06-23T16:43:32","modified_gmt":"2020-06-23T11:13:32","slug":"model-village-scheme-hit-by-lack-of-interest-funds-ministry-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/model-village-scheme-hit-by-lack-of-interest-funds-ministry-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Model village scheme hit by lack of interest, funds: Ministry study"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong> The Ministry of Rural Development has observed that the Model Village Scheme (Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana(SAGY)) has not been able to achieve the desired objectives and failed to make a significant impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana(SAGY)<\/strong>: It was launched by the Ministry of Rural Development in 2014.<\/li><li><strong>Aim: <\/strong>Under the Scheme, Members of Parliament (MPs) are responsible for developing the socio-economic and physical infrastructure of three villages each by 2019 and a total of eight villages each by 2024.<\/li><li><strong>Key Features:<\/strong><ul><li>MPs have to select a gram panchayat (other than their own village or that of their spouse) to be developed as an Adarsh Gram(Model Village).<\/li><li>Lok Sabha MP has to choose from within his\/her constituency<\/li><li>Rajya Sabha MP has to choose from the rural area of a district of his\/her choice in the State from which he\/she is elected<\/li><li>Nominated MPs have to<strong> <\/strong>choose a Gram Panchayat from the rural area of any district in the country.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Funding: <\/strong>No new funds are allocated for the scheme.Resources may be raised through existing schemes, MPLADS, CSR funds, gram panchayat\u2019s own revenue.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/uybxfPQS3wjxDV1VlkiznIPgo_iwF4QdZHvLJLaOTLihyDn7Cs_xPq7Hv2iB9uR8h1HFPDMXrIDvwZGDMsByjgpx5yPX6lJ8a9mY5MLMYmsRDbkTSEZof1IdSH--IWPov6tAUOIB\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: The Ministry of Rural Development has observed that the Model Village Scheme (Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana(SAGY)) has not been able to achieve the desired objectives and failed to make a significant impact.
