{"id":90664,"date":"2020-09-11T17:50:39","date_gmt":"2020-09-11T12:20:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=17386"},"modified":"2020-09-11T17:50:39","modified_gmt":"2020-09-11T12:20:39","slug":"initiatives-launched-under-rashtriya-gokul-mission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/initiatives-launched-under-rashtriya-gokul-mission\/","title":{"rendered":"Initiatives launched under Rashtriya Gokul Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News: <\/strong>Prime Minister has launched several initiatives under Rashtriya Gokul Mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Initiatives:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Semen Station<\/strong>: It has been established in Purnea, Bihar to develop and conserve indigenous breeds of Bihar and meet demand of semen doses of eastern and north eastern States.<\/li><li><strong>IVF lab: <\/strong>It has been established at Animal Sciences University,Patna for propagating elite animals of indigenous breeds and thereby enhancing milk production and productivity manifold.<\/li><li><strong>Sex sorted semen in artificial insemination(AI)<\/strong>: It has been launched at Baroni Milk Union in Bihar.Through the use of sex sorted semen in AI only female calves can be produced (with more than 90% accuracy).This will help double the growth rate of milk production in the country.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Rashtriya Gokul Mission<\/strong>: It was launched in 2014 under the National Programme for Bovine Breeding and Dairy Development.<\/li><li><strong>Nodal Ministry: <\/strong>Department of Animal Husbandry and dairying, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.<\/li><li><strong>Objectives:<\/strong><ul><li>development and conservation of indigenous breeds<\/li><li>breed improvement programme for indigenous cattle breeds to improve their genetic makeup and increase the stock&nbsp;<\/li><li>enhancement of milk production and productivity<\/li><li>upgradation of nondescript cattle using elite indigenous breeds like Gir, Sahiwal, Rathi, Deoni, Tharparkar, Red Sindhi and<\/li><li>distribution of disease free high genetic merit bulls for natural service.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Implementation: <\/strong>It is being implemented through \u201cState Implementing Agencies(SIA) viz Livestock Development Boards\u201d.<\/li><li><strong>Gokul Grams: <\/strong>They will act as Centres for development of Indigenous Breeds and a dependable source for supply of high genetic breeding stock to the farmers in the breeding tract.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Prime Minister has launched several initiatives under Rashtriya Gokul Mission.
