{"id":90669,"date":"2020-09-15T17:27:51","date_gmt":"2020-09-15T11:57:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=17437"},"modified":"2020-09-15T17:27:51","modified_gmt":"2020-09-15T11:57:51","slug":"government-introduces-three-agricultural-reform-bills-in-lok-sabha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/government-introduces-three-agricultural-reform-bills-in-lok-sabha\/","title":{"rendered":"Government introduces three agricultural reform Bills in Lok Sabha"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News: <\/strong>Government of India has introduced three bills in Lok Sabha which are aimed at transformation of agriculture in the country and raising farmers income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Ordinance,2020:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Aim:<\/strong>&nbsp;<ul><li><strong>Farming agreement: <\/strong>It provides for a national framework on farming agreements that protects and empowers farmers to engage with agri-business firms, processors, wholesalers, among others for farm services and sale of future farming produce.<\/li><li><strong>Dispute Settlement:<\/strong> A farming agreement must also provide for a conciliation board as well as a conciliation process for settlement of disputes.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Aim:&nbsp;<\/strong><ul><li><strong>Essential Commodities: <\/strong>It seeks to remove commodities like cereals, pulses, oilseeds, edible oils, onion and potatoes from the list of essential commodities.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Significance: <\/strong>This will remove fear of private investors of excessive regulatory interference in their business operations and will also help in attracting private sector\/foreign direct investment into the agriculture sector.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Aim:<\/strong>&nbsp;<ul><li><strong>Trade of farmers produce:<\/strong> It opens up agricultural marketing outside the notified Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) for farmers and also removes barriers to inter-State trade.<\/li><li><strong>Electronic Trading: <\/strong>It seeks to permit the electronic trading of farmers produced in the specified trade area.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Government of India has introduced three bills in Lok Sabha which are aimed at transformation of agriculture in the country and raising farmers income.
