It makes fire safety a growing concern.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Fire accident at Eastern Railway Headquarter in Kolkata is a prime <strong>example of poor attention to fire safety fundamentals, lack of preparedness plan, and the absence of robust fire mitigation technologies.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This accident also provides an opportunity to assess the status of the Model Bill of 2019. It Provides for the Maintenance of Fire and Emergency Services of a state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Modern technology and preparedness are both important for safety against fire hazards, but both are undervalued in India.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/7-pm-fire-safety-in-india-16-february-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>What are the concerns related to fire safety in India?<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lack of robust fire mitigation technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Most of the modern Buildings in major cities lack sufficient in-built fire safety services such as smoke alarms and sprinkler systems. These systems operate as early warning systems and fire control measures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>What should be done to reduce fire accidents?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li>Proper use of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/7-pm-fire-safety-in-india-16-february-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fire safety<\/a> norms prescribed under the National Building Code.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Fire Safety Audits<\/strong> [FSA] should be made mandatory in India.
