{"id":9946,"date":"2019-09-07T15:43:44","date_gmt":"2019-09-07T10:13:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=9946"},"modified":"2019-09-07T15:43:44","modified_gmt":"2019-09-07T10:13:44","slug":"national-animal-disease-control-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/national-animal-disease-control-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"National Animal Disease Control Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Prime Minister will launch National Animal Disease Control Programme for Foot and Mouth Disease and Brucellosis on 11 September 2019 in Mathura.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Programme:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>National Animal Disease Control Programme for Foot and Mouth Disease and Brucellosis is a 100% centrally funded programme.<\/li><li>It aims to control Foot and Mouth Disease and Brucellosis by 2025 with vaccination and eventual eradication by 2030.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional information:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Foot and Mouth Disease&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is a severe, highly contagious viral disease of livestock that has a significant economic impact.<\/li><li>The disease affects cattle, swine, sheep, goats and other cloven-hoofed ruminants.<\/li><li>FMD virus belongs to risk group 4 as per World Organization for Animal Health(OIE) Aphthovirus genus of the picornaviridae family.<\/li><li>FMD can spread when infected animals bring the virus into physical contact with susceptible animals.&nbsp;<\/li><li>If a cow\/buffalo gets infected with FMD, the milk loss is upto 100% which could last for four to six months.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brucellosis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Brucellosis is a zoonotic infection caused by the bacterial genus Brucella.<\/li><li>The bacteria are transmitted from animals to humans by ingestion through infected food products,direct contact with an infected animal or inhalation of aerosols.<\/li><li>The disease is also known as undulant fever, Malta fever, and Mediterranean fever.<\/li><li>In case of Brucellosis the milk output reduces by 30% during the entire life cycle of animal.Brucellosis also causes infertility amongst the animals.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:Prime Minister will launch National Animal Disease Control Programme for Foot and Mouth Disease and Brucellosis on 11 September 2019 in Mathura.
