Have been a silent reader since long. Love the vibe on this thread. Thank you amazing people.
Prelims 2020's got me to speculate and waste boatloads of time this past week. Well, just the usual yearly borderline issues I guess. But this is the first attempt and irrespective of clearing the exam or not, it's time to get mains prep done. So here it goes,
- Optional Revision: 1st Chapter (1/2)
- Ethics Consolidation (1/4)
- Answer Writing
And so my watch begins :')

Not the first day I would have wanted. But counting on the something is better than nothing principle!
Could not touch ethics today. Answer writing has finally started after a long break of 3-4 months. Optional needs more time to achieve the targets.
Tomorrow:
- Optional revision: Finish 1st Chapter (2/2)
- Ethics Consolidation (1/4)
- Answer Writing
Had to do some unexpected travel. Missed out on the targets yesterday.
Tomorrow:
- Optional: Try to finish Chapter 2
- Ethics Consolidation
- Answer Writing
Need to figure out ways of balancing optional and GS to ensure holistic coverage.
Today was better, but lots more to be done if I've to stay in the game.
Things done today:
- Answer Writing & Review
- Optional Chapter 1&2
- Current Affairs
Tomorrow:
- Finish Optional Chapter 2
- Answer Writing & Review
- START Ethics again!
Have procrastinated enough on ethics. Need to face the red book tomorrow.
Just some words that keep me going, "A Psalm of Life" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.
Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each to-morrow
Find us farther than to-day.

Okay, so mathematics keeps telling me I'll have to take it slow. Mains marks of seniors last year seem confusing, need to ensure a healthy GS-mathematics balance to remain in the 'race'.
Things done today:
- Optional Chapter 2 (Half)
- Answer Writing & Review
- Ethics Red Book: A meek Ba Dum Tss :P; need to go full throttle from tomorrow!
Tomorrow:
- Finish Optional Chapter 2
- Consolidate Ethics
- Write an Essay (Yay!)
- Figure out a smart CA strategy for mains

If you guys have please let me know how will go for gs 3@HotBloodPrince @Kapiushon @Archand
Considering this will be my first attempt (hopefully!), I don't really think you should put a lot of weight in what I say because there's no way to benchmark it with what UPSC wants.
Economy:
- Economic Survey 19, NITI 3 Year Action Agenda, Revise Static notes
- Also, consolidate year long current affairs notes into topic wise
- Make list of Policies, Commissions, Data points and relevant notes and integrate them with topic wise notes
- Go through topper answer scripts, PYQs to get pointers on what UPSC wants and so on.
Other Subjects:
- Make use of sources like NDMA Guidelines for disaster management, vision monthly for internal security to ensure comprehensive coverage
- Special emphasis on analysis PYQs of S&T considering their arbitrariness. Focus on COVID19 & space missions considering Chandrayaan 2 & Gaganyaan have been in news.
- Most of the points under the economy sub heading hold here too.
Lastly, I am not even sure if I'll be able to do any of this considering how much time the optional is taking. The idea always needs to be that you customise your prep around your strengths, needs & weaknesses. Incase I am not able to cover the GS papers the way I want to, my focus will be on topper answer scripts, PYQs and writing tests trying to integrate all the content accumulated throughout the year.
All the best! :D
