Doubt Clearance Thread: UPSC 2021

Could someone explain the line on Deputy Chairman? Does this mean that once the member is elected as the Dy. Chairman is elected, he/she is immune to ADL?

@vikhcu2073 But according to ADL, in case an MP/MLA "voluntarily leaves" they might be disqualified; in this case the Dy Speaker is an exception then, is that what you are trying to say?

hi, could someone explain
a) what does "ordinarily resident" mean under citizenship act, 1955?
b) is there a difference between "ordinarily resident for xyz immediately before making an application" and "ordinarily resident for xyz before making an application"?
c) could someone confirm the definition of PIO?
According to A8 of the Constitution, a PIO is a person who, or either of the parents, or either of the grandparents were born in India according to GoI Act, 1935 and are ordinarily residing in a territory outside India. Lakshmikant defines it as either the person, or their parents were born in undivided India or in a territory which became a part of India after 15 Aug 1947.

thank you very, very much.

Sorry, this is not a doubt but a question and it would be really helpful if one could guide me through it.

a) Are there any sites which have a combined calendar for all State PCS exams in one place along with notification updates as and when the advertisements are announced for each state? Or does one have to check for each state individually?
b) What are the other exams UPSC aspirants take during the course of their preparation with the primary focus on UPSC Civil Services examination?

Thanks a ton if you could find the time to answer this question!

Doubt : International Law and 'State'
a) who determines whether a territory is a State or not? Is it a bilateral thing? What is its significance?
b) Israel and Palestine don't recognise each other as States. However, the occupation of West Bank is illegal under international law. However, according to the modes of acquisition under international law, a State can occupy an unoccupied land only and an unoccupied land could be uninhabited or an unrecognised State. So the illegality arises from the documents signed under the UN framework between the two governments, right?

Thank you!

Heatwaves
WMO states that heat waves can develop anywhere where a HP system is developed over a larger area, thereby trapping hot air near the surface. But HP conditions stem out of colder regions? How can both the statements be true at the same time? Thanks.
