I am not sure why many people haven't mentioned this beautiful thing called "meditation". In a world full of chaos it is the only thing that keeps me sane.I’ve always wanted to meditate but I’m too distracted to really sit and meditate. My mind wanders constantly. Also I’m not sure I truly understand what one is supposed to do while meditating.
Feel that. Everyone struggles with that in the beginning I guess. However, that is the point of whole exercise. It is supposed to train you to control your thoughts and not let your mind veer away. You focus on your breathing, minor sounds and smells around you and don't allow your mind to focus on anything other than that. Initially, while meditating I had this very strong urge to move physically or just itch anywhere. Controlling it is difficult but you slowly get better at it. This is how it helps you improve your concentration- not letting you mind focus on immaterial things.
My interpretation of it. Someone may explain it better. I hope it was not gibberish and I made some sense.
All these meditation tips are making me want to try it out for earnest. Is there some set time you guys would recommend I start with? Do you meditate when you feel overwhelmed, or is it built into your daily routine? Do you do it on an “as and when” basis or do you do it daily?
Early in the morning before coffee or late in the night right before sleep works well for me. You may want to try and see how it goes for you.
Not promoting but app called headspace helped me. Try kar sakte ho. First 10 session free deta hai.

Could you please walk us through the app? I got its subscription in the Times Prime package, but I couldn't understand the app properly.
Not sure if qualified to do that. I use the free version only by recycling basic free sessions. Let me try. It has recorded audios under 4 categories:
i) Meditation- Guided sessions where you can choose between male/female voice and how long you want to meditate (3-20 minutes).
ii) Sleep- Soothing sounds for sleeping like rains, bird chirps and stories.
iii) Move- Workout videos like yoga, cardio and stretching.
iv) Focus- Motivational/mood elevating kinda stuff and even some of Zimmer's tracks.
