Chairman Mam- Your interview is over Manish , now you can go.

My experience - maximum interview was around geography but in a different way, they were more interested in asking follow up questions rather than specific geography question and in each question they were requiring to bring geographical dimensions, like that ips case study, indus water treaty.
No question from hobby, district etc.

One more thing that I noticed whenever I was giving any suggestions or solutions they were making altogether Saying this is very normal, oh  this is on books not in reality.. wanted me to prove my point.
Overall I was satisfied because there was no factual question so conversation went well.

- leather ? Why it has declined
- (one or two history questions I can't recall)

M2: are you on social media ? Instagram or Facebook? WhatsApp or telegram?

- why were Indians fighting for the Britishers in the WW1 ? Okay leave it, tell me would you have fought for the INA or for the Britishers ? In WW 2
- okay so, you are saying germany did holocaust and you're favouring INA? Because INA belived Germany would win ? I said I'm for the cause of independence, there was no guaranteed promise as such by the British Raj to grant immediate powers after the war, moreover the Germans help was limited - explained how, japan was a threat etc etc
- okay now tell me, you are in a district and then I give funds which you can either invest in social indicators or infrastructure. Which one you'll pick
( Asked if the allocation could be 50-50, she said there's always a cost benefit, it's up to you)
- so you're saying infra is more important? People are sick and you'll invest in infrastructure
( Explained to her that infrastructure includes hospitals, accessibility, better facilities even in the PHC and if not then would increase the refferal rate and by that automatically the health indicators would go up, in building the infra, employment would be generated for the skilled as well as the unskilled would translate into wage increase would lead to better standard of living, digitise the public school classrooms etc etc - would lead to holistic development)
- she said are you sure you will stick to your decision ?
- I said, yes ma'am, I will.
- she finally smiled and said thank you

Chairperson: thank you, your interview is over. It was very nice interacting with you.

(Said thank you, walked out, while closing the door, the chairperson kept looking, peripheral vision se I could see)

- felt the time pass by very quickl, but checked and realised that it went on for 30-32 minutes.
- i did say sorry, 2 times to lady member, once to chairperson and once to member 1.
- chairperson was giving a lot of expressions - cannot decode them, he did try to help me twice in answering.
- it was an average interview for me, more like ques ans and viva, board was asking back to back ques without giving a lot of time to answer as compared to mocks.
- *lastly, my only source of preparation was with UTKARSH SHUKLA SIR- MentorAID, and the daily discussion group of 4 people at the end, learned a lot from selected candidates and seniors*.

Difference between Mocks and real interviews ? Mock interviews are like viva, real interview flows like intellectual conversation, in mocks you can predict questions and rehearse them, here the questions are highly unpredictable.......you sit on equal footing with the board members.......round table and six same size chairs are placed and you are seated on one of them implies that it's a conversation.

DAF Keywords- Zoology, Botany, History, Sociology, Solo Travelling, Weight Training, Rajasthan University, Jaipur.

Entered, Wished Good Afternoon only to chair, took seat.

Chairperson Sir (Reading from some page and speaking Hindi)- Aapne Zoology – Botany se Graduation kiya, fir History se MA kiya ha aur aapka Optional Sociology ha. Abhi aap XYZ mein work kar rahe ho, Jaipur se ho (I was nodding)

Chairperson

1. Pehle ye rule tha ki aapko same subject mein PG karni padegi jisse aapne graduation ki ha. (I was not sure if it was a question but I added flexibility offered by NEP and increasing interdisciplinarity).
2. UGC ke naye rules ke according, teaching ke liye sirf PG subject matter karta ha, baaki qualifications matter nhi karti. Ispe kya opinion ha aapka? (I said PG offers a lot of depth but gave somewhat inconclusive reply)
3. Tell me about Maratha empire, kisne establish kiya tha? (He was probably checking the depth I mentioned above but I couldn’t answer
4. Inke major leaders kon thei? I couldn’t recall much except Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj)
5. Mainly Marathas Maharashtra mein thei. Fir unmein se kuchh Indore, Gwalior aur baaki jagah kaise chale gye? (Couldn’t Answer)
6. Let me give you a statement- The downfall of Mughal empire led to the downfall of Maratha Empire. Can you explain? (I said- Unable to connect the dots)
7. He repeated the same question… (I said- As far as I could understand, initially the Britishers were able to subjugate the Mughals and later on they were able to subdue Marathas. Sir added- Pehle Britishers ke saamne 2 groups thei, Mughals and Britishers. Ek baar Mughals ko hara diya fir sirf Marathas bache. I acknowledged.
8. Which three events from Indian history were watershed events according to you? (I mentioned 1857 Revolt, Formation of INC and Arrival of Gandhi Ji to the national movement. Sir added- Battle of Plassey, he further said, Jab unka jhanda neeche aaya aur apna Tiranga upar gaya uski bhi importance hogi? I acknowledged both the additions.

Sir asked the next member to continue.

M1 (Female)
1. These days, drugs are readily available in India. Even children are easily able to access it. Have you seen this? Why do you think this is happening? (Peer group and supply side but since confined to particular pockets, easy to tackle)
2. Do you think, this "Chalta ha" attitude is one of the reasons behind it? (Yes, it could be, in fact, it is one major reason behind many other issues like traffic problem)
3. Picking form my answer- Why do you think people are always in a hurry? They don’t follow rules, try to get ahead of others, they occupy the other side also despite knowing that this will cause unnecessary delays? (Ma’am I travel a lot and I have seen examples where one lane was completely empty but people were patiently waiting in queue, so this could be mainly a cultural phenomenon. But with sustained efforts, this can be tackled as we have been able to do with Swachh Bharat Mission)

M2 (Male)
1. You have mentioned Weight Training as your hobby. Should we make it mandatory in Schools? (Not necessarily Weight Training but main goal should be fitness be it through Yoga, Weight Traning or any other form of exercise. NEP already makes provision wrt to physical fitness.)
2. You had Zoology and Botany in Graduation. How can we ensure protection of natural biodiversity while promoting tourism? (JFM, Involving local communities like Nagas in case of Hornbill, Green Mobility and sustainable infra)
3. Are you aware of any such initiative being implemented on Delhi-Uttarakhand highway? (No).
4. Did Gandhi Ji establish any educational institution? (Probably picked because I mentioned Gandhi Ji to Dasa Sir -I mentioned Nai Taleem and Wardah Scheme of education but not aware about any institution as such).
Continued👇🏻>Interview Transcripts (CSPT-2025):M3 (Male)
1. The Covid pandemic lasted for around 2 years. What social changes did you observe because of it? (In migration and consequent increased solidarity, adoption of digital media, increased interactions through virtual means due to distancing and better awareness related to health and hygiene)
2. Are these behavioral changes or Social changes? (We can put them in both categories)
3. Providing piped water connection and building toilet in every household has been priority of the government. What social changes have you observed because of this? (This was picked as I dropped SBM earlier- I said, Dignity of Women, Basic human rights, increasing acceptance and adoption of toilets in rural areas)

2. Since you are from Jaipur and studied in Rajasthan University (RU), are you aware of any or any congress session associated with it? (No). Sir explained- Jab Jaipur ke Maharaja se Rajasthan University ko land transfer hui tab ye session hua tha. (That’s very interesting sir, this is the first thing I will read after getting out. Thank you for mentioning this)
3. National development ke liye youth bahut hi important lekin ab tak youth ka potential tap karne ke liye kuchh khaas nhi kiya gaya ha. What’s your opinion on it? (65% population below 35 years, Acknowledgment of Youth as priority by PM, Draft National Youth Policy released a week ago, Creation of MY Bharat as dedicated organization for youth).

Chaiperson Sir- Your interview is over (He didn’t say you can leave but I said thank you and left).

Experience-
1. It lasted around 25-30 minutes. It was more like a two-sided conversation.
2. Chairperson and M4 were speaking in Hindi. I tried to answer their questions in Hindi only but I had to resort to English in some questions where I was struggling with Hindi.
3. The members were supportive and adding details where I lacked. Very cordial experience. I hope it translates into better marks.

All the best everyone :-)

>Interview Transcripts (CSPT-2025): Name: imperfectionist
Date: 18/12/25, afternoon, first to go

Key DAF Details: Lucknow, Electrical engg, history optional, railfanning, marsiya poetry, edtech work exp.

Board: Mrs Suman Sharma!

(Entered the glorious circular gallery - was made to sit outside by the person accompanying me - ma'am entered first - after a minute i was called inside)

(Ma'am was sitting that day in the room opposite to sheelvardhan sir, rather than her own - four male members were present)

(entered inside with poise - greeted ma'am and then the members - asked me to have a seat - and started with her volley of questions as soon as I had thanked her)

Questions asked:

Chair:
1. So you have a unique name, tell me the meaning. (I explained in brief)
2. And I see, you have worked at xyz company for 3+ yrs, how do you see its spectacular failure and what are the reasons for the same? (explained in detail pointwise)
3. Do we need edtech in india or should it be restricted (gave a balanced answer)
4. Issues with power sector in India, with reference to PPAs and PSAs (gave technical answers, got confused in between regarding payments made to generators by discoms, she interrupted in between)

(Passed to M1)

1. challenges with education sector in India - general points
2. issues regarding the same in rural India - critical gaps
3. case study - how will you tackle such issues as the DM
4. how will you ensure digital integration in rural education sector, curbing teacher absenteeism etc
5. partnerships between govt and private sector in ensuring effective educational outcomes as the DM

(Passed to M2)

1. Governance challenges in rural areas
2. 1st and 2nd ARC
3. their recommendations (I used keywords like citizen centric governance, modernising and optimising legacy workflows, streamlining processes, e governance etc)
4. asked me a body with deals with exclusive administrative grievances (I answered DARPG)
5. full form of darpg - (i mentioned governance instead of grievance - he corrected me)

(Passed to M3)

1. tell me about solar energy and associated challenges - went too technical and deep (managed to give satisfactory answer - forgot general challenges like land avblty etc)
2. floating solar and issues (mentioned O&M challenges)
3. renewable energy landscape in India - gave data points (had prepared them well)
4. challenges in RE integration as the power secy - which deptts will you coordinate with (I mentioned MNRE, POSOCO/GCIL, Power Ministry, grid operators like PGCIL, etc.)
5. you forgot to mention one critical agency (dropped hint regarding SECI - of which Ma'am was the MD) - (full sycophancy mode) - then asked about the mandate of which I responded with a generalistic answer (dev of solar power sector in India)
6. hypothetical situation - if the entire grid is shifted to RE esp solar and we have sufficient BESS - we should do away with thermal generation due to green energy commitments and NDCs - (i replied sir too difficult - we need to ensure predictable baseload power at all times for critical infra operation, also grid stability can be jeopardised) - started arguing that this is certainly possible etc (i mentioned sir we can reduce carbon intensity by other means such as SMRs etc) - (wanted to give him pakistan case study where off grid systems have collapsed the grid - but restricted myself) - again started reiterating his point (to which i said sir as per my limited understanding - i have learnt that predictable baseload generation is sin qua non for power system stability) - on which ma'am looked at him to signal something
7. went briefly to my hobby - railfanning - asked about it (replied in single line)
8. jumped to challenges in operationalisation of National Monetization pipeline in IR (I was dumbstruck - managed to carve an okayish answer like bureaucratic hurdles and delays in land acquisition - replied I need to dig deeper into this issue as I have not read much about it)
9. jumped to geopolitics and trade deals/FTAs (oman signed was being signed that day) - is the wto dead?

(Passed to M4) >Interview Transcripts (CSPT-2025): 1. asked me about marsiya poetry - (replied in a single line with emphasis on elements and poets - looked like he wasn't much interested)
2. jumped to tourism question - should we build new monuments or conserve existing ones (i was blank for 2 secs and asked him to repeat since his voice was feeble - took a balanced stance - gave example of dubai/uae - glass and steel towers plus old arabian fort heritage
3. moved to challenges in tourism - mentioned about lucknow and its identity of Bada Imambada, but the city has innumerable imambadas, palaces, old gates, havelis etc
4. asked me for solutions - (i mentioned urban tourism - UP policy)
5. follow up on urban tourism - (same dubai example, malls, etc)
6. why will ppl come to see urban tourism - (i mentioned ppl frm rural areas thronging to see lulu mall, palassio, gomtinagar in lucknow)
7. if i come to lucknow, what places will you show me (i was delighted - tried to frame a long itinerary - morning at kudiya ghat, riverfront, breakfast at hazratganj/maulviganj/bilochpura/chowk) - interrupted me there - (i wanted to give him deeper insights and he chickened out lol)
8. again a question on wind power and challenges - (replied technically - lack of sustained wind speeds, limited geographical viability in west and south india, tower erection challenges above certain heights, power evacuation infra needs high capex - forgot to mention basic challenges of land, env issues such as GIB etc)
8. as i was mentioning wind challenges - i said sir i can think of only these points at the moment

Ma'am looked at M4 and said - "okay thank you, your interview is over."

I responded back with a thank you to ma'am and then the members.

felt so much relieved afterwards, stood up, took 2 steps back, again said a thank you, and came outside.

my own assessment - very cordial board - ma'am+members kept poker face all the time, I tried to smile everytime and keep cool when they tried to grill me. used hand gestures too while explaining. interestingly, they didnt touch hobbies in detail despite them being very unique, nor did they even mention about history optional lol.

Grateful to God for having come this far. Fingers crossed for the future.
