   India is running one of the largest renewable capacity expansion programmes in the world. Between 2002 and 2015, the share of renewable grid capacity has increased over 6 times, from 2% to around 13%. India has anchored a global solar alliance of all countries located in between Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. India also has adopted National solar mission and National offshore wind power policy.

   India has plan on front of Reduction like-

    Metro projects for cities including Pune, Ahmedabad and Lucknow are being planned. Delhi Metro has already earned carbon credits.
    Bharat Stage IV
    Green Tax
    Ujjwala Scheme

   Also on Adaptation by increasing efficiency:

    National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency
    Energy rating of appliances
    National Energy Efficient Agriculture Pumps Programme
    Super Critical Coal Based Thermal Power Technology

   India has well placed plan to achieve NDC. But there is huge hurdle in implementation. So far financing has been from domestic resources. As per some estimation USD 2.5 trillion will be required for climate mitigation effort between 2015 and 2030. Developed countries should be supportive and help in transfer of technology, remove barriers, create facilitative IPR regime, provide finance, capacity building support and create a global framework for Research & Development on clean coal and other technologies.

   Our earth is a global heritage. A united effort is required in its preservation. It is a matter of satisfaction that UNEP in its Emission Gap Report 2014 has recognized India as one of the countries on course to achieving its voluntary goal.
