UPSC Releases 2016 Exam Calendar, Prelims 2016 on 7th August

Prelims 2016 is on August 7

Union Public Service Commission has releases the Examination Calendar for 2016.

The Preliminary Examination for CSE 2016 for Selection into Civil Services and Indian Forest Service will be held on August 7, 2016 ( Sunday ). This is about two weeks earlier than the Examination Date for Prelims 2015 

Expected Date of Notification for CSE 2016


 

The expected date of Notification for Civil Services Examination 2016 is 23rd April 2016. In this Notification, UPSC annually comes up with vacancies for the Examinations and also announces changes, if any in the Examination pattern, barring this year, when CSAT was made qualifying in nature post a notification from Department of Personnel.

Last Date for filling Up Forms for Civil Services 2016


 

The last date for filling up forms is 20 May , 2016So you will have less than 30 days to fill up the form. However, if you want a good center for your Prelims Exam, it is advisable to fill up the form as early as possible. By a Good center, we mean a center where you have better classrooms and benches /seating capacity.

Civil Services Mains Examination Date


 

As per the Calendar, The Mains Examination for Civil Services Examination 2016 will begin from Saturday, 3rd December 2016. The Mains Examination will be a 5 day affair as it has been this year.

The Expected Calendar for the Mains Examination 2016 is as follows:-

DAY 9AM – 12 PM 2PM – 5PM
Day 1 Essay English
Day 2 General Studies Paper 1 General Studies Paper 2
Day 3 General Studies Paper 3 General Studies Paper 4
Day 4 Optional Paper 1 Optional Paper 2
Day 5 Language Paper No Paper in this Session

UPSC Releases Prelims 2015 Admit Card – Do not forget these points

UPSC has released the Civil Services Examination 2015 Admit Card.

Date of Examination: August 23, 2015

Time:  9:30 AM – 11:30 AM – General Studies I
2:30 AM – 4:30 PM – General Studies II

You need to enter the hall 20 minutes before commencement of each paper.

In case of any discrepancies in the Admit Card, contact UPSC immediately.

  • If links are not working in one browser, use a different browser to download. UPSC recommends Chrome or Mozilla. If none are working, maybe javascript is disabled in your browser. Enable javascript. Google how to do it. If nothing works, just use a different machine where someone has successfully downloaded.
  • Note that, for repetitive downloads, the UPSC server may block you. So, do not ask friends who are also downloading their own admit cards to download your card too by posting your details. If you do get blocked, then contact UPSC via email.
  • If you have filled the form multiple times, download only he copy last filled.
  • Preferably, do not download on mobiles.
  • UPSC advises you that in case your photo is not clear, you need to carry a photo identity proof like Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport, Voter Card, PAN Card etc and two passport size photographs for appearing in the examination, along with an undertaking. But why take chances? Just carry a Photo Id and two passport photos to the exam anyways. The undertaking’s format will be something like: “I hereby declare that I am the person whose photo is attached here” followed by your signature. But take a blank sheet of paper which you can fill there itself under the guidance of the invigilator.
  • Only black ball point pens are allowed.
  • Never change your signatures. Do not put full signature at one place and half signature at another place. Stick to whatever you have uploaded.
  • This year will be counted as an attempt only if you attend the exam. Simply filling up the form and getting an Admit Card does not count as an attempt.
