SOLUTIONS TO DAILY CSAT MISSION # 29

1. (A) 2. (B) 3. (C) 4. (B) 5. (A)

Explanations
1. Let the total marks be ‘x’. So, 62% of x = 372 i.e. (62/100)*x = 372.This gives ‘x’ = 600.
Then, (294/600)*100 = 49%. So, 294 is 49% of of 600.

2. W and Y cannot play together. So, (A) and (D) are ruled out. C and Z cannot play together. So, (C) is also ruled out.

3. (D) is ruled out because it does not have (B). (A) is ruled out because B and W cannot play together. (B) is ruled out because C and Z cannot play together.

4. If three of the four spots are taken by the three males A, B and C, then only the fourth spot is available to a girl. There are four girls. But because B is there, W cannot play in the team. And because C is also there, Z cannot play in the team either. So, the fourth member can be taken in two ways only: either X or Y.

5. HCF of 408 and 312 is 24. So, the minimum number of sections will be formed when students are arranged into classes of 24 each.
Sections containing only boys = 408/24 = 17.
Sections containing only boys = 312/24 = 13.
Total sections = 30.
