North east-east of Great Himalayas is a cold desert. But they have not been designated as a biosphere reserve. U can refer to this ministry pdf below. It mentions only HP. In case if u differ, plz post the snapshot of ncert.

Both J&K and HP have Cold Desert Biomes, actually it is more prominent in HP. Spiti valley and the coldest regions of Ladakh are in HP. But the answer is still wrong, as the Biosphere’s name is Ladakh only.

But Himachal doesn’t even have cold desert.
Plus how are these two two different things. Biosphere is the thin area where hydrosphere, atmosphere and lithosphere meet and that way cold desert biosphere would actually be equivalent to cold desert. Shouldn’t it be? -
Kunal, Cold desert and cold desert biosphere reserve are two different things.
This is how I interpreted the question.

I also marked WWF, but Incorrect……..You are Right Bhaii. An org which is highly probable to be asked in Prelims…they should not confuse students by setting such options, Instead they could provide explanation if something is debatable Or we can check it out ourselves. “GKTODAY” is also no Authentic source. Thanks for Sharing..!!

i ticked WWF.have seen some special regions section on their website.thought conservation international only has to do with criteria of hotspots..
