EXPLANATIONS:
1. Q asks for what is incorrect. Same as asking “what it were not made of”. Its just a trick to confuse. Red Sandstone male torso is a famous example of IVC sculpture, so it leaves Iron as the only logical exception.
3. I think this Q is wrong, for point 3 is also correct. It was an established Mauryan administrative practise, not just Asokan. So maybe it can be said that that was not the purpose of ‘Asokan pillars’. Still, vague.
The rest can be inferred from common knowledge.
But it is also true that his Pillars marked administrative divisions. It was introduced by Chandragupta following the Greek administrative practices that he greatly admired.

Can anybody explain Q 3
Why option 2 is correct.
In Ncert, there is no mention of Buddhist doctrine.
As far as I know it was more about ethical conduct.
please care to explain Q3,why not option 3 ?
-pillars had proclamations inscribed on them that would’ve surely helped in admin convenience…
plus they were found along trade routes .but could’nt find any source that refutes or fully backs the third option.

statement 3: But in some Earlier temples roofs were made flat. By the time it evolved and slant roofs were made. Hence Poor drainage of rainwater to Proper Drainage Pattern adopted. #CCRT
Exactly. Iron would be the correct answer to what “Harappan sculptures are not made of”
Question asks for what are the incorrect answers?
So correct answer can’t be (c)!

Confused regarding question 3.
5. Mathura school – earlier Indigenous, later influenced by Gandhara ?
And regarding statement 2….Ashokan Pillar are considered 1st evidence of Buddhism .
Dhamma was based on Buddhism and had its teachings and philosphy
I also marked statement 1 & 3…by eliminating 2 as he was not propagating Buddhism…. later i read the 3rd statement….. “To mark the beginning and end of the territories for the administrative convenience “….i think the purpose was never administrative convenience …and also in most pillars extent of his territories were not given in details …like beginning and end of empire.
yes you are correct..my mistake
one correction…. bearded priest was made of Steatite (soapstone)….male torso was made of red sandstone
3 of 6 scores, 50%
Oo…i just forgot and also the male torso with ‘prominent abdomen’ ….Thanks
Q3, nowhere was it given that he was preaching Buddhist doctrines…he was preaching ‘Dhamma’ which is different from Buddhist doctrines (it was influenced by it)…this is a well established debate whether Ashoka was a Buddhist or a secularist…so that option is wrong…and also in one of his inscription, he indicated the extent of his empire (the one through which we know that deep south was not part of his empire)…
Anyone agree with these points? If not, please clarify..
yes….need explanations,,,,forum plze
Hopefully 😀
Bust of the bearded man..aka priest king was red sandstone..
Did Harappan used Red sandstone for sculptures ….? anyone… pls clarify

What is your doubt Pooja?
I marked all of the above and it said that 1and2 are correct.
As far I knew, They are used by the researchers to understand the extent of Ashoka’s empire. So, it should have been one of the objectives of the administrators of the time as well.
Write your doubt and I will respond accordingly.
For propagation of Buddhist doctrines ??
