@ForumIAS Sir quoting objective of NuSTAR from wikipedia “Its primary scientific goals are to conduct a deep survey for black holes a billion times more massive than the Sun, to investigate how particles are accelerated to very high energy in active galaxies, and to understand how the elements are created in the explosions of massive stars by imaging the remains, which are called supernova remnants.”.

Confusion in 2nd question, Answer is D i.e. both Blackhole and Sun. Explanation “The purpose of NASA’s Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array, or NuSTAR was to set its eyes on black holes and other objects far from our solar system.” If far from solar system how can Sun be the answer?
Please clarify. -

IGMDP —
1.Prithvi – Short range surface to surface ballastic missile
2.Agni – Intermediate range Surface to surface Ballastic missile
3.Trishul -Short range low level surface to air missile
4.Akaash – Medium range Surface to air missile
5.Nag -Anti tank -
I think Brahmos is not part of IGMDP..
-
IGMDP mein indigenous missiles hain. BrahMos is not indigenous as such. Clarification anyone?

When we talk of missile development in India, we refer to two type of programs:
Integrated Guided Missile Development Program and Indian Ballistic Missile Defense Program
The Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP) focussed on these 8 missile types:
Trishul,Akash,Nag,Prithvi Series,Agni Series,K Missile Series (ballistic missiles),Surya (medium-range version of the Agni ballistic missile),Dhanush (naval version of the Prithvi).
In 2008, the DRDO announced the successful completion of the program. Aside from these we went for join production/ procurement of certain set of missiles:1 BrahMos:BrahMos supersonic cruise missile is designed and developed by BrahMos Aerospace, a joint venture of India and Russia.
2 Barak-8:It is a long-range anti-air and anti-missile naval defence system jointly developed by India and Israel. It is a surface-to-air missile.
Indian Ballistic Missile Defense Program
The program aims to develop and deploy a multi-layered ballistic missile defence system to protect from ballistic missile attacks. It
is a double-tiered system consisting of the Prithvi Air Defence (PAD) missile for high altitude interception, and the Advanced Air Defence (AAD) Missile for lower altitude interception. -
3/6 bhai kitna bhi padhlo SnT me bahar se hi questions aate kya 😛
-
Q1 BrahMos?? and Q2 The explanation does not mention the Sun and even cannot find it anywhere else.
Any clarification would be appreciated ForumIAS team. -
Yes, there is confusion now, although Wikipedia mentions BrahMos in other developments section of the IGMDP.
-
Prithvi missiles are surface-to-surface ballistic missiles. However, they are part of IGMDP. So, one cannot say it is for guided missiles only.
-
सही जानकारी हमें भी नहीं है, हमने तो बस लिकं साझा की…..

I also think BRAHMOS is not a part of this program. Have never read BRAHMOS to be part of IGMDP.
I think there would be addition later.
Let’s see someone may come with even more authentic source. -
That does not mention that Brahmos is a part of IGMDP

Intermediate range surface to surface ballistic missile – AGNI
Short Range low level surface to air missile – TRISHUL
Medium range surface to air missile – AKASH
Third generation anti tank missile – NAG
In 1990s the programme was expanded to include Sagarika (ballistic missile), Dhanush (naval version of Prithvi) and Surya missiles

Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme falls under the ambit of Ministry of Defence with the objective of developing a range of
guided missiles that provides India with a stellar military might and also, serve as a deterrent for our not so friendly neighbours, like China and Pakistan
BraMos Cruise Missile. In 1998, the Government of India signed an agreement with Russia to design, develop, manufacture and market a
Supersonic Cruise Missile System which has been successfully accomplished in 2006.
And ,There is a difference between Cruise Missile And Ballistic Missile.and BrahMos Is A criuse Missile. -

Integrated Guided Missile Development Program
The Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP) was launched in 1983 to develop five missile systems in the country viz. Trishul, Akash, Nag, Prithvi and Agni-I (intermediate-range surface-to-surface missile).
In 1990s, the program was expanded to develop the long range Agni Missile, Sagarika (ballistic missile), Surya (medium-range version of the Agni ballistic missile) and Dhanush (naval version of the Prithvi). In 2008, the DRDO announced the successful completion of the program.
