Hello world!

If you are reading this, you have probably followed us through ForumIAS.com/Discussions. Chances are you, you have used ForumIAS. And you have probably loved it.

ForumIAS.com was founded in January 2012 with a small userbase of 5 people. When we started out, we wanted to create something where IAS aspirants could interact.

Back then, we had Orkut. And a wonderful community called Interview Prep 4 IAS. The problem?

Anything you posted on Orkut, like your Prelims success (or failure), your Interview call, everyone amongst your friends and family knew. The Civil Services Examination is a three stage process. You never want an early congratulation, do you? We all fear not living up to the advance publicity that partial success in this reputed exam brings to us.

So anonymity is our best defense while we struggle.

We wanted something that would be anonymous and yet very useful. We were not sure if anonymity would be used in the right way. And we still have our debates.

But we knew we built ForumIAS in the right direction when  crazyphoton revealed he was the man who had secured Rank 1 in IAS 2013.

While the nation wanted to see him when he topped the Civil Services Exam, he sat in front of his computer, engaging with the same set of friends who knew him as crazyphoton, on ForumIAS.com before he became a superstar.

So do hundreds of aspirants who make it to the Indian Administrative Service every year, and yet drop by at ForumIAS.com to thank old friends. And comrades. To share their success stories. And tips.

And thousands of aspirants look up to ForumIAS as friend and guide in their journey towards the Civil Services.

Life is a numbers game.

Out of 3000 odd aspirants who appeared for the Interview in CSE 2013, 2000+ are ForumIAS members. And 2 out of 3 candidates who make it to the final list are ForumIAS members.

ForumIAS connects tens of thousands of aspirants from across the country (and abroad) where they share strategies, notes, books, and their stories every day. ForumIAS is built on the idea that some of the most understanding people you will ever meet in the preparation phase of your life will be aspirants anonymous.
