- UNSC: India eyes support from Pacific Island nations: India and Pacific Island nations like each other – except one major issue – India is non-committal to fixed agenda setting on GHG emission norms. The Pacific Nations want the world to commit to Greenhouse Gas emissions – rather than merely talk about it. Why? Because if GHG emissions are not capped, the sea level will rise and their island nations will sink in due course of time! Now India wants their support on UNSC permenent seat.
