  • The Politics of backwardness :Agitations for inclusion in the OBC list by the Patel community in Gujarat might face a lot of procedural and legal obstacles. With the recent Supreme court judgement against self proclaimed socially backward classes , the Patel community might find it even more difficult to meet the specified criteria for social and educational backwardness.

  • RBI asks Govt to speed up reforms in banking system :Stressing the need for Financial sector reforms , the RBI Governor has said that Financial Sector needs greater entry and competition to increase efficiency. More Participation according to him will increase the size, depth and liquidity in Financial Markets.
  • Less impacted rupee keeps foreign travel costs low : Despite the ongoing depreciation Indian rupee has been less impacted by the global shocks than other emerging Asian economies like Malaysia, Thailand etc. This has made travel to these countries much cheaper though Europe and American tours are still on the costlier side.
