CSE 2021: Plan / Strategy / Daily Routine

I am pretty much exhausted. I put all that I had today. Around 9 good hours after cutting out those 6 hours of college leaves almost nothing for recreation. Yet I couldn't achieve all the targets. But then I believe this is my general tendency. If I am given an option to climb either of the two peaks, I will choose to climb 70-80% of the steeper peak than to climb a less steeper peak. Haha!

I did this today-

Targets for tomorrow-

Day 21 (19th August)-

A funny thing that is happening with me these days- Whenever I feel drowsy during the day, I try to manipulate my mind by reminding it that SLEEP IS A MERE STATE OF MIND and tbh it works.

Chalo Shubh Ratri doston!

Kal I didn't study anything(quite literally). Aaj bhi only Marx wala part. Pretty bad but koi nahi I will step up.

Will update in the night.

This is brilliant@mightyraju

Remember we just have to keep putting efforts. Not meeting targets 100% is okay. Not having goals is not okay.

The night was one of the most horrible. So horrible that I wake up, cried, was drinking water, cried, and never being asleep thoroughly. This is a strange thing considering I have always been the most cheerful and enjoying nature person throughout my life. Sometimes, I wish I should have been an arrogant, very selfish person throughout my life.

Targets -

Not to kill myself today

Mock test & analysis

CA revision till January

Polity PYQs

 Newspaper

+1

Right now getting killed would be redundant.

I surprise myself every day by waking up early and showing up on my study table. (Sjerngal)

I don’t think I’m going to make it this time. I’ll probably fail spectacularly going by present status of things, but now is not the time to think of all that. (Villanelle)

Saving these lines for the tempest in coming days.

Last week attempted : society and optional paper 2 (75%) 1st round.

Left : entire history, optional paper 1 A part 1st round.

You guys, alll you guys, hold your guns. This is the time for action. Stop thinking wheather you will make it or not, an just do your job. And that is to study.

Has anyone of you ever faced extreme unease with essay writing? Problems like

1) Not being sure about the demand of the question, I am always doubtful of my interpretation of the essay(I know there can be multiple interpretations but still)

2) Going blank in between

3) Losing interest midway- feeling like I am already doomed, it is a worthless exercise (seriously)

So if anyone of you has the slightest idea about these problems/possible solutions then, please help out

Hello,

This is not a writing problem. This is a thinking problem. You tend to get distracted. Stop judging yourself, and if you are NOT writing the Mains this year, try writing some essays without conforming to the UPSC demand. Write a 2 page 3 page 4 page essay.

You will have to love essay writing, and then adapt to the demand of the commission instead of beginning with it.

This is for this query that got lost somewhere

"do people skip cse mains for IFoS? If yes, what is their success rate?

Note- I got severe covid 2 weeks ago, still recovering. Lots of time wasted. I am not sure if I will be able to give my best with no study or revision in last 2 weeks."

@Pureheart  Do not skip the Mains examination even if you are absolutely sure that your preparation is not upto what you expected. Writing the Mains in real will once for all have at least one bnefit, and that is ,  you will have an exact idea of what the demand of the mains exam is. Missing the Mains, means you are no more experienced than a candidate who has not cleared Prelims.

Civils is an exam where experience matters. Your perception of the exam changes or I should say / evolves with time.

And I say this with experience.
