Is it just me or there seems to be a bias in literature optionals?
Literature Optionals may have a higher selection ratio, but marks given even to the topper are not very high. Except for Hindi, Kannada and occasionally English Literature - I have not come across any other literature paper consistently giving the topper 300+ year after year.
How can we check marks of optionals ? Does UPSC provide the list ?
There are pdfs of entire marksheets of all selected candidates available on cseplus till CSE 2017. General trend can be known anecdotally too.

When was the last time you guys & girls had a haircut?I shaved my head three weeks ago... I have discovered the secret of the upsc bois
I did that last year and the year before that. I have some reasons not to do that this time.
I have done it too ... Not shaved but nearly.... How does that look in the interview though ? Any thoughts

On a serious note, I scored decently(276 marks) in my first attempt (2019). I genuinely think 320+ kind of score is possible in history also. Mera pata nai but koi toh laega.
SergioRamos,thesleepyhead@Usain_bolt history doesn't seem unpopular considering 1000+ students are opting for it.Look at other subjects, many optional subjects just have 300-400 students. Like maths, physics etc

It is incredibly liberating. My scalp felt alive literally. I legit has to write down my observations because I’ve never had such short/ no hair. I’m also supremely aerodynamic now

Would it really affect interviews, given that it’s just hair. No hair is any day better than messy hair. Besides there might be people who choose to shave their head if they suffer from hair loss as well. UPSC surely cannot hold you back because you’re “too bald for the job”

I don't think Hindi Literature was that scoring in 2019, topper who got 310+ in 2018, reduced to 260s in 2019.
I wish if only it was that scoring in 2019, I would have made to the final list :P
hope it was only for 2019, (2020 will tell), otherwise it is high scoring optional
Nowadays, we have this dominant belief spread around that being vegetarian is more helpful for the environment in the long run. Here is a video challenging the fact that it won't have much of a difference. For aspirants like us, it is good to have all the perspectives. So sharing this link. Can be helpful in Environment related Essays and GS questions.
