@Nikita Hahaha.... Don't tell anyone, a secret, that I am the Batman.... (Kidding).
By the way, I am totally new to the Forum. You've mistaken me for someone else.
In case of Ramayana and Mahabharata, use reverse psychology on your parents. I have told them "Mahabharata nahi dekhna chahiye, warna ghar me kalah hota hai." The funny thing with religious and gullible people is that they believe anything related to superstition. So, now they only watch Ramayana.
It's ok to be anxious. I would do the same if I were at your place. But overthinking is not a good idea. Let UPSC do their business and we do ours.
All the best.

This is still too crowded for a pandemic situation!!

Keep safe and maintain distance.

major changes witnessed in orn:

  • Closure of study halls
  • Closure of Bookstalls
  • No tea stalls but cigarettes are available in black market.
  • No parks no chit chattings in parks
  • Closure of all restuarant but some food stalls are available for home delivery.

No major changes in Daily life routines

  • People are coming for milks and vegetables frequently than before lockdown
  • Everyone trying their hands on cooking.
  • People are playing cricket like nothing happened(only minute population).
  • Dogs(a.k.a Human Companion) are having much say than before, they became orn ke raja.

The busy streets of Golchakar road which greeted anxious aspirant holding yellow covered booklets replaced the masked aspirants holding groceries(although now streets are neither busy nor empty).

I wouldn't be reading wrappers for sure, but thanks your suggestion of hearing the tv as background noise works for me. Thanks a tonnn.
@Nikita One personal suggestion from my side would be to try to listen to the TV sound while it display serials such as Ramayana/Mahabharata, in a similar way as most of us listen to some background music while studying. Even the paper setters are having a chill time at home during this lockdown period and this gives them an opportunity and enough time to dive deep into the syllabus and surroundings and frame questions of much better quality/difficulty than usual. No wonder if a question might come in Prelims from such mythology based programmes. Also, I have heard once that a geography question came based on some quiz given on a Chocolate wrapper. This is why I’m paying attention to the wrapper of each snack I’m having in this lockdown period. JK.

Is there any online app/website that can provide with stationary items in Delhi ? OMR, black pen mainly? Flipkart , Amazon are not providing.

@Nikita This exam demands collective effort of family. Your whole family should be preparing for the exam.

Initially, I took time in adjusting, I used to think I'm not able to study because someone is gossiping or someone is watching TV or my relatives would be criticising behind my back, or my friends must be studying more than me etc. I blamed anything and everything for not able to concentrate.

Gradually I came to realise that I can't study because I have no plan.

By the way, there is some truth in all those arguments. So, I started taking steps.

1. Firstly, I conveyed my parents what this exam means to me. They had no idea what this exam demands. Since they understood my problems, it was an easy task to fix all the problems.
2. I made some rules about the schedule to watch TV.
3. I conveyed my relatives that I am preparing for exam from home and I am here to stay for long. The one thing that comes in the way is, your self doubt about you staying at home. After that no one has visited my home unnecessarily.
4. Then I got a separate room for me. A study table and a comfortable chair is a must.
5. Then gave responsibility to everyone to alert me according to routine. The routine is simple, slots of 4 hours and 2 hours for study and break respectively.
6. I joined online courses (for optional, current affairs and Prelims Preparatory classes) to have continuity.

That's all it needed.

I don't know about your situation, but hope this helps.

P.S.: I am not saying, I follow timetable religiously. Efficiency is never 100%, it is a natural law.

thanks again for this. There is nothing more reassuring than to get advice from people who can at least realise ur situation because they are preparing too!

there is one shop in ORN for stationary near Yashoda Dairy. If you are coming from Pani ki tankian, turn left. Towards Salwan. If you can walk it will be great. Uncle is really nice and gives much better price than zilledar shop in main road. Online there is little chance because these are not essential commodities.

@Nikita Glad that I could help.

Have watched Batman trilogy probably 100s of times, especially Batman begins and The Dark Knight. Recently watched after someone told me that it has concepts of capitalism and communism (anarchism) ingrained in it.

I have stayed in ORN for quite sometime. I miss the place. When in the evening, I used to get bored, used to have that veg puff from the bakery. Chai at this place.

Parts of my interview preparation have happened in this area sitting g with friends in the evening at the staircase.

And now it's all gone. I want to come back soon :(

Yes. Gotham city is divided into haves and have nots  - the reason behind it needs a masked vigilante to control crime.

I like dark knight the most. Ben Affleck has not been able to do justice to the role. Maybe the script was also weak for subsequent movies.
