Mains 2021: Doubt and strategy discussion thread

I don't know what to say, really. Prelims is over. The discussion as regards the authenticity of answer keys is the most futile discussion. So, I am creating this thread as a necessary and much-needed diversion. Three months to the biggest battle of our professional lives begins now. All comes down to how we heal and grow from now on, and either, we heal or we're gonna crumble. Day by day. 

We're in a toxic environment right now, fellas. Believe me. And, we can stay here, get the s**t kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. Mains is the road ahead for everyone of us notwithstanding our current predicament. So, let's continue to fight and not let our guard down.

A lot of DAF doubts. Please help. 

1) Are internships to be mentioned as part of employment records? (Mine was compulsory as part of my graduation) 

2) My degree has not been issued by the University till now, will Final year marksheets work? I'll get it by interview dates. (I called UPSC, they said it's fine.)

@Carpediem Same issue. Called UPSC. They said upload marksheets and passing certificate. Get degree on the interview date. Thinking of writing a email just to have a written proof of such communication.

What about language change?? Called and they have said to call again on monday. Will it be possible to change the language. People in service or some one with an idea please. This is such a dumb mistake I have done and not able to find peace of mind.

@Jokar should i go to cat..because last year date was shifted from 1st aug to 16th aug by cat. maybe this time too they give me some relaxation..my certificate is of 20th march.

I think for ews what matters is the financial year for which the certificate was issued. I think it should clearly mention you are ews as per income asset certificate for 2018-19. Rest you can ask upsc.

​it says certificate should be dated earlier than last date of prelims application (03.03.2020). this is prelims notification.

@मुसाफिर There is no harm in trying but it would be better if you first clarify from UPSC by calling them. I am not really sure about the date thing. I just got to know about the case when Mains result was delayed. You can check this year's notification if it mentions anything about the certificate date. Last year was the first time this was introduced so they asked for certificates dated till August. This time you have to check the notification or call them. If nothing works, CAT can be the last resort.

yes..it says so but i applied after notification came and i got my certificate issued on 20th march. maybe cat can rescue me.

The EWS matter is still sub-judice in the Delhi HC. Get in touch with the lawyers involved in the matter as early as possible and seek their opinion. If the verdict is out, you'll have to start from the scratch.

Unable to open the image. In my certificate, there's only one number, and its next to the barcode. It's the same as my roll number
