I am having a strange pattern in marks.

The day when I write the test without much preparation, I beat my best score.

Is anybody having the same pattern?

I am having the feeling that My answer writing is becoming unpredictable.

Does it happen that the day you don’t prepare you write what is asked. And the day you prepare, you wrote what you have read /know?

There is nothing to worry about here. Do not adopt the wrong philosophy of not studying because you don’t currently see a direct correlation between effort and marks.

Your preparation will definitely help you after a time lapse when things will be more evened out, such that you will not have some areas /  points unduly highlighted as answers in your memory.

I am not opting out from studying,

What I want to convey is that when I write with preparation, I am able to scale the quality of my answer and able to predict my marks correctly,

But when I write without studying, then to my expectation, my mark should be low as I writing common sense/generic points, but still getting better marks.

This results in the feeling of uncertainty on what is a good answer or not.

one possible cause may be that in case of an unprepared topic, I limit myself to subparts in question and try to give more dimension, which makes the answer holistic.

Hi

I would like to thank ForumIAS for this innovative test series which helped all of us in utilizing this crucial time in a maximum way.

AWFG test series is the most targeted approach in UPSC in which every topic is targetted by 10 questions resulting in covering all dimensions.

Though I tried to honestly attempt all the tests, I am not sure how well prepared I stand today.

Below is my overall performance

ScoreTimes

8 and above4

7-8        17

6-7        5

5-6        3

<5        1
