@Shailputri not to sound misogynistic, but men Always prefer to be bit muscular , hence the protein. Women prefer to look more curvy , hence fat. Guess there is genera idea of what “looking good” for each gender is the reason

:D Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi me Macho wala dialogue yaad aa gaya.

@chamomile it doesn’t mess up with any bodily function. Supplement is only if your unable to meet requirements through food. Dm me if you want to know more about this dieting stuff. I would like to share on this page itself if there’s a general interest about that kind of stuff for people here

@Shailputri I think there is a big misconception that working out make women look manly. That is why there’s a genera reluctance among women in working out. Hope to see that attitude change in coming days

Yeah please do share! Learning about nutrition and meal planning has been number 1 on my list of "essential things to be learnt to live a healthy life" :P. Especially after I decided to start strength training.
Alternatively, there could be a separate thread for nutrition and health-related stuff if that is convenient.

@chamomile I think we need a separate Thread for that. There are A lot of people who might be put off by that dialogue

Sorry bro. I am on Do-Not-Sweat-on-a-Treadmill team. Workouts in gym and developing muscular mass thru protein shakes is not my idea of a healthy being. I dislike skinny and I dislike muscular. But this is a matter of preference and means no disrepect to the dieticians out there.
Would like to know vegetarian choices of Vit B and D (other than Dhooop) though...

I thought Mains ki baatein chal rhi hongi.

Idhar toh protein protein chal rha hai. :p

Humara bhi Protein waala obsession tha ek samay.
Not lying, but once by mistake, I looked for protein content in Bisleri mineral water. Those were the days. :p

Ab toh bas sab fat hi fat hai..

In the videos that I use for working out, the trainer keeps on repeating the benefits and essentiality of strength training. So I finally gave it a go post prelims. Basically, started with the BWF primer of Reddit and eventually started doing some other exercises too. Though my strength level is still very basic. I am barely able to finish a routine with 1 kg of a dumbbell in each hand, but I mains made me realise how much my body has improved.

During prelims in csat session I had complete bodily exhaustion midway during the exam and had back pain for a day or two after it. Fast forward to mains, where we had to write 5 papers of 3hr each on three consecutive days, my body didn't face much of a problem. Especially the back which used to take a hit even with a very low amount of stress. Of course, the fingers were in a bad position but kassandra's wrist yoga kind of helped in that by making it manageable.
So guys, irrespective of gender, Strength training in particular and workout, in general, has immense benefits for each and every individual (except in situations where it is explicitly prohibited or if you doing a wrong form or any such thing).

@Shailputri most vegetarian foods don’t meet the daily requirements. You could opt multivitamins if you don’t have any deficiencies. If you’re vitamin d deficient, then go for a vitamin d tablet that has 10k IU

I am no sociologist but noticed a pattern about guys obsessing over proteins, as ladies obsessing over fats. Guess at a societal level generalisations do work. #JustSaying

I obsess over Doge memes and Shaktiman comics.😊.

I read a study where it says that the number of calories burnt on a thread mill is less than just jogging outside given same speed and duration of time. I dont like doing cardio in a gym. Gym only for muscle toning.

Do machines also have calorie issue?
I heard that most of the times changing engine oil making the machine as good as new. Isn't it the case for a machine gun? :P :P

the domination of highly irrelevant topic of fitness on this thread reminds us of what alexis de tocqueville called as tyranny of majority

Delhi vaalon, any suggestions how to let off steam? Some relatively less known places to visit, good places to eat, anything!

Please go to Ama CAfe... Ive been there more than 20 times in less than a year...
It is not a less known place though... Very popular...

Lodhi Garden is also a good place to soak in some winter sun.. Quite well maintained atleast when I had gone there 2 years ago..
