Post mains results, what would be your strategy?

They will be halting their daily answer writing programme from 1st Feb onwards till Prelims 2020. You can join it when it resumes in June or July 2020.

@ManchesterUnitedLet me ask you some specific question. I always wonder how people who cleared this exam would have answered some questions.

Q) The long-sustained image of India as a leader of the oppressed and marginalised nations has disappeared on account of its newfound role in the emerging global order.’ Elaborate (15 Marks)

For the above question, he directive is ELABORATE.
SINCE UPSC itself gave the word DISAPPEARED in the Question, should i say like "YES IT DISAPPEARED" OR SHOULD I SAY IT IS NOT OR BOTH??

DOES "DIRECTIVE" matters?? Or irrespective of directives one must write Yes &No perspective.

For this my answer was based around the India’s role in NAM offlate and how India is trying to potray itself as an emerging power rather than being a representative of 3rd world!

Indian PM skipping NAM meets 2 times in a row but being enthusiastic to meet with CEOs of Facebook etc shows India’s policy shift

But,at the same time we represent developing countries in many issues of unfcc and wto
So,the answer is on the lines of yes our priorities are changing but we haven’t abandoned it all together!

Directives like critically analyse must be given attention,rest discuss,elaborate etc are basically same atleast as far as I understand

@HermioneGrangerI have seen people joining answer writing post pre and clearing the exam.thus is it ideal to practise ans writing for around 2 months only?

@bevancombeen there done that. Worked the last time around but not this time. Koi paradigm shift hi chahye answer writing me. Cant expect different results if I keep on repeating the same mistakes.

Apologies for replying to something which demands a reply of some other specific person but
If I would have answered this question, I would have been of the stand that yes it has dissapeared and the reasons behind it are:-

1. Establishment of various constitutional bodies post independence have helped in keeping a check and balance on various arbitrary means inflicted upon marginalised communities.
   2.The economic reforms of 1991 have helped India play a key role in global order via Globalization. The integration of Indian market with the world market have helped us to address various socio-economic problems(The nehruivian idea of growth).
   3.The presence of large amount of Indian Diaspora worldwide also helps India in engaging with the varied nations. Also India’s commitment to various global platforms like UN(UDHR, Peacekeeping missions etc) have helped India in making its voice heard on global platforms for example India using international platforms to address Tamil problem in SriLanka.

I would have also quoted some negative sides like India’s lower ranking in various indexes like Gender Gap, HDI etc and in conclusion I would have mentioned that India needs to tread carefully with the J&K and CAA issue as it has several international implications like violation of HRs and suppression of freedom of expression.

I think ethics paper mujhe le dooba. I spent most of my answer writing practice to master ethics paper matched my answers on secure and tlp. But that sense of satisfaction and completion never came. Even after exam I was not satisfied woth few answers though I attempted every ques. How to write an awesome ethics answer?

i am tired of Test series.. mujhe lagta hain mera dimaag hi kam hain.. i can't interpret questions properly as per demand of exam.

@STThis exam can do that to you. Making you feel inadequate like you’re just not good enough. I guess we all should take our time to come out of it.
Ps- I am pretty much tired with the conventional test series myself. There’s no coherent reviewing. And there is no personal guidance. Clueless!

Can we make a group for mutul evaluation of GS answers?

@STmene to 3 oct se hindu, optional , mocks start kar diya tha. Maalum hai ki jitna jyada effort lagao kismat utne L lagati hai, JEE k dino se..

@AzadHindFauzI want to be a part of it but ab sirf prelims par focus hai along wth optional. Yaar itna random ques aata hai ab..mains ki answer writing practice college k third year kar raha hu...result nil batta sannatta hi mila

@STI am. I just need to sit down and see what went wrong.

@STprelims k liye test series konsi sahi hai except vision. Insights is just waste of time. Drishti achi lagi but only 20 test

@abhishek_pLet's just make a group. We can do practice post-prelims more sincerely. Those who want to do some kind of answer writing along with prelims prep can do now. I've planned to do writing practice for overlapping areas (pre+mains) till the end of February.
