@bhuvanamalar1015412 In 2018, in this same forum blog, we were all discussing about the toughness and different pattern in the paper compared to previous years. Many were expecting the cutoff to be 90 and not more than that. But in the end the cutoff was 98. Whatever the toughness or difficultly, somehow people will get 90+ through luck or hardwork. Don’t expect cutoff to get below 90 in this competition era and decreasing amount of vacancies. If one is sure of getting less than 85, he/she should relinquish the hopes of clearing pre

Cutoff will be between 90-94.

Afterall they need only 3600 ppl who's answers match with their key. Almost everyone is around 85.

It's not that everyone is around 85 rather only those who r above 85(general) are cmntng here due to anxiety of unknown.one who gets above 100 won't discuss here, same with those who gets below 80.

Tumhare discussion dekh ke to 120 vala bhi dar jaye :p

You can in the last para of mitakshra. They can be coparceners after 2005 amendment.

And also statement 3 is about properties held by man or a woman and how is it talking about inheritance rights of women ?

Qstn asked with reference to ancient Hindu law ,so amendment does not matter .

Coparcenary is only a part of property rights. Mitakshara school denies only coparcenary rights to women. They do have limited property rights like stridhana and all

exactly. And nobody is focusing on the language of statement 3. It talked about properties held by men and women. It didn’t talk about the property rights or inheritance rights of them. Hence the language itself makes it wrong.

And mitakshra has some property rights for women especially when father and sons are distributing. They can get a share.

this is given in ncert, still let upsc decide but must probably it will be B

iss definition se toh A hi aa rha hai answer...anyways B mai natural rights bol rha hai, totalitarian states have no natural rights they remain a  state nevertheless

basically, the idea of state/nation-state is centered around sovereignty.

IF B IS RIGHT ,by this logic  Myanmar, Sudan and north Korea failed to be called state even they are recognized by UN as state.

"natural rights" are not given by state. Legal rights are given by states.  ~ Jeremy Bentham ( Ethics wale)

@BhallaRobert I think what upsc intended to check was, whether candidates know that most of copper ores are sulphur based and not carbonate based. And to make sure, that candidates don't take it otherwise and get confused, they consciously mentioned the word lethal amount there. This is exactly what they have done in the indus river question as well.

Last year, the question was which all are emitted when crop residue is burned. In such questions, you can blindly mark all of the above because pretty much anything can be emitted depending upon what is being burned - NO2, SO2, O3, CO, CO2, CH4, H2S and what not. There UPSC will play it safe and give all as correct

This time, had the question been "Which all are emitted by copper smelting plants?" - then CO would have been included

The question this year is - Why is there a concern associated with copper plants - emitting lethal quantities of CO is not one of them

@oopsie yes may be you are right but who defines what is lethal quantity or not .Mention of SO2 as the only one bothering the smetlters and surrounding areas doesn't negate that CO cannot do it
You have source saying CO is not emitted or it is not harming anybody ?

@prachimalik1121311 Lethal Concentration - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics . To have lethal quantities of CO in environment, something really drastic will have to happen. For example, a closed car needs to be filled up with exhaust smoke for a person to die. Something of that proportion happening in environment will take an explosion

@prachimalik1121311 and to specifically answer you question, lethal doses of  poisonous substances are defined, usually in ppm, mg/body weight etc

Even small amount of Carbon monoxide is lethal. Its binding affinity with Haemoglobin is around 300 times greater than Oxygen. Thereby causing hindrance in oxygen delivery leading to hypoxia.

Last year there was a question on Desher katha .. Whether by desh he meant India or only bengal

The original book was downloaded and translated from Bengali to English…From there it was crystal clear that by Desh the author meant entire India

Still people here were like no desukar is wrong , me bol raha hu na desh matlab only bengal. Dosent matter whatever he wrote in book 😂😂

is saal Copper smelting and State wale q ka bi yehi haal hai

@5HT The words "concern" and "may" are more important in this Q. Most importantly, nitpicking never works in UPSC papers. One has to think like a generalist while attempting such Qs. Negating the first statement, in fact, is highly improbable.
