[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

@mickeyviru big concern, ready to appear in prelims on 31st May but reducing gap b/w pre and mains will make situation tough.

@Amarbabu they will not do such thing.

See if they postpone the exams by 1-2 weeks then they might consider not changing the mains date.

But if they postpone the exam by months then they would have to release a new date for mains and in that scenario it may happen that 3 months gap is given.

Although I believe if dates are changed then UPSC may try to follow the earlier calendar of taking Prelims in August and so on. Since if they announce a date they would want to stick to it and would certainly keep sufficient cushion for situation to get normalised.

But these things cannot be assumed with surety.

@MarcusA I did... And yes paper was good. Decent but tough questions. And totally agree with the 23rd results thing. No need of such extra suspense.

@Osho attempted 88...i believe it was one of those paper which can go either ways.. one-liners were quite a few ... not as easy as it seems to be.

Wo to mehendi laga ke baithi hai bas apan doli leke jaa paate ki nahi ye dekhna hai ab....

Few points from the article

  • Admit cards have been prepared by back end team, venues have been identified
  • Officials who conduct exam have also been identified by DMs
  • Stationary and answer sheets are in transit via India Post. However, delay due to focus on essential goods.
  • UPSC is continuing with preparation to conduct exam on 31st.
  • No final call yet.

Sirjee,

In my distriLct

  1. Last year centers and list of people have been brought on table but not updated because it was to be done in March
  2. No documents have reached the district. There is no information also

UPDC is not holding regular meeting. The office is open with limited capacity only.

My district is one of the designated centers , and I keep tab on the news. There is no movement till now with respect to UPSC exam and it is the last priority as of now.

UPSC will meet on May 3 and give new dates in most likelihood.

presently in my state, there is no supply of any national daily since lockdown began. Also Delhi itself a epicentre where cases still rising fast and since lockdown no test series and other material not available from ORN shops. So,as Dr Jitendra Singh said,UPSC will announce new dates.

The article also says -

1. many of these venues have been made quarantine centers and therefore, new centers will have to be identified. Students may also have to move inter-state in this case.

2. Admit cards have been made but we will have to change the venues in admit cards according to ground position.

3. some states have shut schools till 17th June, cannot hold exam without cooperation from such states.

cool!
and yeah, I just saw it now.
They plan to achieve both, social as well as economic benefit of some type.
Everyone who is into CSE is clever I believe, wether it be the aspirants, the institutions involved in guidance/preparation as well as the Commision conducting the exam itself!

Is there any example where a public body in India paid heed to change.org, formally or informally? I couldn't find any concrete case online.

Different note, sending a well drafted retirement message to chairman might work better, emotionally atleast. He retires on 7/August/20.

@hound I don't think so. But then we now have PM Modi. He is a little tech-savvy and cares for public perception and social media . So you never know.
